Carrying on from the Chuckie Egg thread, which version of Thrust do you think is best? Straightforward gameplay, simple graphics, but there seems to be such a difference between computers/consoles.

This is my regretted non-nom from Dom's poll. BBC version again is the one I know best, remember being disappointed that the C64 game just didn't feel right.

oh i'm not voting for either, hated this game. so frustrating.

(xpost) Well I'm biased, having owned a BBC Micro at the time, and playing the game incessantly when I should have been revising for exams. But it's still my favourite version because of this "feel" that there is to the physics. It's possible to pull off tricks that are just frustrating to attempt in the other versions, like swinging the pod around while avoiding the closing door and simultaneously shooting the reactor. And the collision detection is pixel perfect.

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

I'm with Ste, never played a version I liked, so no vote from me.

Also, this poll is a bit tricksier than the chuckie egg one, just because CE had lots of versions, but never any clones. The same isn't true for Thrust, and that muddies the water a bit.

Well I've stuck with versions actually called "Thrust" - no clones like "Gravity Force" etc., so no poll option for the Amiga. Arguably the 2600 and Vectrex versions could be considered clones as they were released much later in the early 2000's.

Didn't know vectrex games were still being made. I really should get myself one.
