talk here about stupid old games that may or may not be marginally improved by the magic of higher definition.

the thing is a lot of these games look weird as shit in hd at 60fps or whatever. i played jak & daxter in hd for a while last night and my eyes started to bug out. same with the god of war ones a couple years ago. that said it's really nice to play this stuff with modern conveniences (hdd, faster loading times, etc) and the ps2 era is maybe where gaming was big enough that budgets matched ambition but were not too big to crush innovation.

or the ps2 era : 70s hollywood :: journey : greta gerwig

The Silent Hill collection is supposedly terrible.

Dunno, if these screens are actually representative then yeah, looks pretty horrible.

Would rather replay SH3 with the gun bonus, I think. It's been a while, but seems like I remember the replay supplies you with a machine gun and unlimited ammo. Halo HD was fun, though. The textures, etc. were different enough, there were bits I didn't recognize. Granted it'd been a decade since playing the campaign,

severely want to buy the MGS HD collection but I keep pulling back from the purchase via fact that I played MGS2 in December, MGS3 in January, MGS1 & 4 Feb....point is, the nostalgia I feel I need to build up. But shit do I want to be a completionist.

the mgs hd collection also had peace walker which i haven't played yet but is supposed to be awesome. it takes place in 1974 costa rica and the cutscenes are comic book style so you get to click through 50,000 panels rather than making a say 3-course meal and taking a nap like other mgs cutscenes.

haha, hell, half the attraction of the MGS series for me were the cut-scenes. it's gotta be the only franchise in which i felt gameplay was the ultimate pay-off for allowing you to just watch things play out in kojima's hyper-active wannabe cinematic glory
