so the dude at GameStop guilted me into buying eternal sonata tonight

I mean I asked him hey what else is worth buying for abt $20 and he went into this empassioned spiel abt eternal sonata and it was my free out out buy 2 get one free and this young nerd was staring on lovingly so I felt bad. Is it crap? Do I have to sneak back in and swap it for crysis 2 or some shit? HELP

I mean obv I will try it in the next week but it's a Jrpg so obv the first 15 hours will kind of suck and I want to play driver San Francisco and edf insect Armageddon more, which were my other 2

its features one of the many attempts by jrpgs to develop some kind of engaging non-monotonous combat system which tends to involve pushing multiple buttons and no real skill buts it p flashy and fun and the combos are p enjoyable to pull off

plus in the ebay/CL/goozex world it seems to have retained a fair bit more value than other games that came out for the same price at the same time! at least it liquidatable if you don't like it!

actually been thinking about getting something in this vein. tied between tales of valkyria, folklore, and yeah, this. or i could just get dead space/assassins creed/arkham city. honestly i'm entirely torn as to whether i just want mindless bullshit or just plain bullshit.

I think I got through about six hours of this, the combat wasn't the problem though. The cutesy Chopin stuff was just too horrifically twee for me.

i beat this thing. thought about beating it twice (cause new game+) but no. it was fun tho. for what it was.

Ok 3 hours in and I am kinda fascinated - combat system really comes into its own and avoids the final fantasy pitfall of press button and wait, and the first straight up Chopin history lesson is pretty affecting. Is it possible that this game can actually pull off melancholy on the 360?

Although the actual gameplay storyline so far has nothing to do with that and is pretty blaaaaaaah.

jury still out. very very hard to get excited about picking this up whenever i put it down, which is prob a very very bad sign.

this may join the sad dusty shelf of JRPGs at the justen residence i fear. a little toooo cute looking, although i guess the characters heads are only obnoxiously rather than unsettlingly oversized. speaking of which, people keep telling me that blue dragon game is good but man i can not get past it looking like a precious moments RPG.
