How do i spell it, or how do i say it?

"vidya" for spoken, one word for typed.

kingfish, Monday, 16 June 2008 06:58 (seventeen years ago)

"video game" for spoken & typed

Curt1s Stephens, Monday, 16 June 2008 07:44 (seventeen years ago)

I say "videogame" sometimes, it has its own unique flavor

Curt1s Stephens, Monday, 16 June 2008 07:45 (seventeen years ago)

"videogames", to distinguish from games that might be played outside (I don't ever do this). Or games that are played on a table with a slab of printed cardboard.
My father would vote for "useless waste of time go and read a book"...

When it comes to compounding words, I get all German. Mash that shit up into each other. VIDEOGAMES.

Did you know that it's still AP style to capitalize Web and Internet? So it's always "Web site" and not just "website".

Urgh I missed this one. Add an imaginary vote for "video games" because every reason I've seen for "videogames" has struck me as faulty at best.

1) removing the space will not make people take "videogames" more seriously.
2) "games" isn't latin so appending video to it doesn't make a lick of sense.
2) space or not, the name is bullshit anyway as games are generally based on a lot more than just video images these days. if you want it taken seriously it needs its own name sans "video" and sans "games." Call them ludos or inties (: interactive :: movie : moving picture) or fuck I dunno anything but video games/videogames.

2) "tele" is not latin so appending vision to it etc etc

ledge, Friday, 20 June 2008 14:58 (seventeen years ago)

seriously
