Who else plays these? A test of knowledge of overplayed radio songs. Stupid but addictive.

Hmm, I'm curious but I basically won't do anything that pops up with a prompt to install some spamming crap on Facebook...have to get my fix from Sporcle quizzes, which are often pretty fun...some good nerdy stuff in between all the obvious lists.

Doctor Casino, Tuesday, 11 September 2012 03:01 (thirteen years ago)

i'm acceptant that Facebook is spamming crap tbh

syntax evasion (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 11 September 2012 07:53 (thirteen years ago)

There's been a slow steady decline in my commitment to this, unlike the sharp drop-off of Draw Something.

ledge, Tuesday, 11 September 2012 08:01 (thirteen years ago)

Not sure if it works, but when it asks for permission you can choose to spam to only yourself.

get you ass to mahs (abanana), Tuesday, 11 September 2012 11:46 (thirteen years ago)

Yeah, but that's still annoying. I haven't played for a while, on the verge of just deleting the app. Mainly because I am inordinately shit at this: I have never been good at intros, I need a fair bit longer to get the contextual cues to synthesise in my brain.

emil.y, Tuesday, 11 September 2012 12:30 (thirteen years ago)

Also, not enough krautrock options.

emil.y, Tuesday, 11 September 2012 12:31 (thirteen years ago)

i got the 'jazz' playlist assuming it'd just give you selections from the head of the track and i was kind of amused to find out it didn't

thomp, Tuesday, 11 September 2012 15:38 (thirteen years ago)

I played Songpop for awhile but I got bored of it.

pun lovin criminal (polyphonic), Tuesday, 11 September 2012 19:17 (thirteen years ago)

songpop is the only facebook app i do, will probably get bored of it eventually

had to jump through a thousand flaming hoops to figure out how to stop spamming everyone's walls with it tho

NASCAR, surfing, raising chickens, owning land (zachlyon), Thursday, 13 September 2012 02:05 (thirteen years ago)

hate playing against ppl who constantly come at you with like, glee or k-pop playlists. even if i know a decent amount of k-pop, i'll never beat someone who actually has a k-pop playlist

NASCAR, surfing, raising chickens, owning land (zachlyon), Thursday, 13 September 2012 02:07 (thirteen years ago)

also h8 the scoring, have no idea how it works and why it gives so many points for getting songs in a row when there's only five songs anyway

NASCAR, surfing, raising chickens, owning land (zachlyon), Thursday, 13 September 2012 02:08 (thirteen years ago)

hate when they throw a complete leftfield wtf is this track as the third one so you miss out on any star bonus thing, basically am never gonna get that fifth star in any genre.

ledge, Thursday, 13 September 2012 08:06 (thirteen years ago)

What happens when you do get five stars? I heard they email you all the mp3s in that playlist for free.

JimD, Thursday, 13 September 2012 08:11 (thirteen years ago)

I heard there is gonna be a new grammy award for people who get five stars

ledge, Thursday, 13 September 2012 08:13 (thirteen years ago)

five stars is a piece of piss

pro tip: on the modern charts hit playlist, wait until yr 10 year-old daughter's answer pops-up and then go with that. then get in first on the 3 or 4 songs you actually know.

syntax evasion (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 13 September 2012 08:33 (thirteen years ago)

i hear they haven't decided yet

NASCAR, surfing, raising chickens, owning land (zachlyon), Thursday, 13 September 2012 08:33 (thirteen years ago)

xp basically you can win any game where you got the first one right and the other guy got it wrong, just mimic their answers after

NASCAR, surfing, raising chickens, owning land (zachlyon), Thursday, 13 September 2012 08:34 (thirteen years ago)

The mistakes in this game are bugging me. e.g. under 50's, the Count Basie track that's some kind of modern remix; in video games, the "Street Fighter 5" track.

obamana (abanana), Sunday, 23 September 2012 04:16 (thirteen years ago)

beyonce's name often missing a letter

NASCAR, surfing, raising chickens, owning land (zachlyon), Sunday, 23 September 2012 04:24 (thirteen years ago)

eyonce?
Beyonc?
Be once?

Doctor Casino, Sunday, 23 September 2012 04:33 (thirteen years ago)

nope, hangman style

B_yonce
Beyonc_

NASCAR, surfing, raising chickens, owning land (zachlyon), Sunday, 23 September 2012 05:00 (thirteen years ago)

that sounds like a pretty easy music quiz tbh

Doctor Casino, Sunday, 23 September 2012 05:01 (thirteen years ago)

if it were one of the other letters it might take a few seconds

also i assume people play this on their phones and all they have to do is tap the screen? or am i just really slow at moving the cursor with my touchpad

NASCAR, surfing, raising chickens, owning land (zachlyon), Sunday, 23 September 2012 05:02 (thirteen years ago)

I'm on Songpop as miketd. Hit me up, I'm pathetically obsessed.

mike t-diva, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 13:38 (thirteen years ago)

I'm afraid I'm over it.

ledge, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 13:39 (thirteen years ago)

Cos I beat you.

JimD, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 13:43 (thirteen years ago)

Eurovision and Progressive Rock playlists have got me back into it. Now saving up for Classic Rap.

mike t-diva, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 13:46 (thirteen years ago)

90s alternative is the only one I'm good at.

Jeff, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 17:39 (thirteen years ago)

Indie rock has this song called "IMpossible" by a band called Figurine that I have never heard of.

obamana (abanana), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 18:50 (thirteen years ago)

i'm curious about indie rock, but i'd feel like a tool pulling it on a random person

zachylon (zachlyon), Tuesday, 25 September 2012 19:00 (thirteen years ago)

Oasis songs are always recognizable in less than half a second.

Jeff, Tuesday, 25 September 2012 19:05 (thirteen years ago)

I'm as dadamt, didn't figure out usernames until today

obamana (abanana), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 02:51 (thirteen years ago)

i stupidly love countering video games with female singers

zachylon (zachlyon), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 08:18 (thirteen years ago)

but rule of thumb anyone who throws glee or christian gospel at you can fuck right off

zachylon (zachlyon), Wednesday, 26 September 2012 08:19 (thirteen years ago)

"Disco" is plagued with dodgy live versions, I find. But you get used to spotting them. And "New Wave" is an oddly elastic category: Paul Young! Murray Head!

mike t-diva, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 09:31 (thirteen years ago)

what happens when all 5 stars are fully painted?
will my iphone explode?

nostormo, Wednesday, 3 October 2012 21:16 (thirteen years ago)

one month passes...

playing 'classic rap' against a friend's 14 year old sister I just got DMX's 'Party Up (Up in Here)' played to me starting with the line "I JUST GOTTA GET MY DICK SUCKED". :/!

Merdeyeux, Thursday, 8 November 2012 04:02 (thirteen years ago)

she'll have heard worse.

thomasintrouble, Thursday, 8 November 2012 12:04 (thirteen years ago)

This works anytime you have a lead!! Makes the game ridiculously easy.

The Indie Rock category is always "Loser," "Creep," "Young Folks," something by Phoenix, and something by the Arcade Fire.

Mr. Snrub, Thursday, 8 November 2012 15:46 (thirteen years ago)

eight months pass...

SongPop now bribing me to play with Amazon MP3 credits. Don't know how long that will last but it worked!

Nhex, Wednesday, 17 July 2013 21:52 (twelve years ago)

three months pass...

MoviePop seems easier than SongPop.

I made the mistake of unlocking Legendary Directors, where half of the movies are directed by Ron Howard. Rage inducing.
