One of the greatest games of all time.
Anyhow, I was browsing the metablog and on June 20th they said "We just submitted three downloadable levelpacks for N+ XBLA (one of which is free), we’ll be posting with more details as soon as we get a launch time. In total there will be over 750 new levels! The multiplayer maps in particular (over 300 of them) are a lot better than the ones that came with N+, since we’ve had more time to learn what works. We made sure to include more co-op maps, since they’re apparently quite popular.. these ones are even harder, so start practicing!"
also...
"The handheld versions of N+ are coming out in August; we’re really sorry about the repeated delays, however they’ve definitely been worth it as the games have steadily gotten better with each revision."

I hate this game : ( I just can't get with the physics at all... I hate the way the little dude slides and I hate the way he glides through the air and I hate the way it is just so fkn hard
also I think it looks very ugly, all that gull grey. ngggh
sorry dudes!!! I know it has a following.

It's all good, nobody played more of that shit than me and I can totally understand why you'd hate it, but every single thing you mention as a negative I love about it. I love the slidy-glidy-grey-on-grey action.
I went back the other night to top all of my friend's scores on levels 1-10 because I am a DICK.

the secret level where you get into internet beefs about your publicity-hungry ex is o_O

yeah Will, you got some crazy scores! I do like going back and replaying the easier levels and trying to improve my score after getting stuck / frustrated with the later stuff...

Back when this was just for PC I had the highest score for one level, 29/3 I think? For like a week, then dudes with better co-ordination stole my route and did it better than I ever could.

jeff, what's your gamertag (so we can see your scores) or all you already on my list with a crazy name I can't remember?
I finally beat 16-4 tonight, which had been giving me a ton of trouble. Even after watching that video, I couldn't do it that way and kind of invented my own solution. It made me think, yeah, the controls seem floaty, but on those hard levels you really have to be so precise, so perfect, that the controls actually can't be as floaty as they seem (since I was able to do the same precise jump over and over across the screen & back on that level). I mean, I can understand why people can really hate this game too, but for me it's just perfect... when you master a level that seemed impossible - what a great feeling. Also, exhausting.
BTW: of the people on my friend's list I'm now the leader on episode 16 :)

you had a worse time with 16-4 than 14-4? i don't even remember what 16-4 was. oh wait, upstream, right?
― Will M., Friday, 27 June 2008 15:04 (seventeen years ago)
I haven't beat 14-4 yet :(
...actually I've been staying away from it in terror, but I'll try it soon solo (if I remember right, I even gave up on that level when playing it with three other people).

i am powerstrikelol and i am probably not in your list. i'm also not very far along in the game, but i'm enjoying it.

26-3 kicked my ass this morning. Spent about 45 very frustrating minutes on it (before having to split for work), only once being able to hit all the switches, but still dying right before getting to the door thanks to a homing missile. Those homing missiles! It's one of those levels where I know exactly what I have to do, but there's just so many ways to fuck it up, and you have to go quick, so it just has so much potential for failure. Here's the zoop video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9v7o6QoT5c
It unfortunately seems like the games netcode could have used some more work. I finally played some games online last night and there was definitely some weird lag stuff going on that made things even harder (like explosions on screen that didn't actually happen). I was just playing with/against my brother who lives maybe ten miles away, so there really shouldn't have been any issues. Tried to get some random ranked games going but no games were to be found :(

I don't remember getting too fucked on that level? it's been a while.

new level pack released, 200 points, 200 levels. bought it last night, played for about an hour... didn't die once. beat about 40 of the levels. i heard these levels were easier but i didn't excpet this level of stupid easiness. although the level names are GENIUS.
― Will M., Friday, 25 July 2008 15:08 (seventeen years ago)
That sounds TOO easy - you didn't die once? In N++? Well, the price is definitely nice. I'll probably wait until/if I finish the orginal levels though.
― Jeff LeVine, Sunday, 27 July 2008 05:19 (seventeen years ago)
it's only 2 bucks nad still a barrel of fun, i just haven't hit the nice hard levels yet, is all.

Anybody else planning to pick up either of the portable versions (out today, I think)?
― Jeff LeVine, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 16:45 (seventeen years ago)
Third 360 map pack is supposedly live. This one is free too. I believe it's reworked levels from the original N PC?
