If they made a new one where you could choose one of the original 3 pokemon rather than one of three random shitty new pokemon, I'd be so happy. I voted on this the other day, but genuinely can't remember what I clicked. Anyway; anything but Fire Type. Gimme a Venusaur or a Blastoise over a Charizard any day. I think I went Bulbasaur when I played Red, and Squirtle when I played Blue.

The new Pokemon revealed in the latest batch of scans look cool and you can ride at least one of them. Except for brief sessions with friend's systems I have not played a Pokemon game since Blue, which I was obsessed with. Might give the new one a go. Only worrying thing is reading Pokemon threads, every fan seems hardcore and talks about systems I have no clue bout.

It's really not so bad. None of those 'systems' (IV/EV training etc) is at all necessary to enjoy and complete the game.

charmander was definitely the flashiest pick. who wouldn't want a badass dragon as their final pokemon? squirtle too, blastoise was p badass. if u chose bulbasaur, tho...

charmander was a decent choice in the longrun, but he made the first two bosses - brock and misty - harder because he was weak against rock and water type pokemon, whereas squirtle and bulbasaur faired better. so pick charmander, fine, but then catch a pikachu in the viridian forest to use against misty. this is what i remember from that game.
