Get hype?

Looking forward to seeing if Infiltration takes it again from Daigo, and if this [url=http://penny-arcade.com/report/article/last-minute-angels-bringing-street-fighter-champion-popi-to-evolution-2013]Popi guy[url] makes a mark.

Only game I've been actively playing is Injustice, but it's patched every two weeks with balance fixes and new DLC characters, so expect some weird stuff as the tech is totally unstable. They banned the latest DLC character, General Zod, who came out a week ago. Also, expect lots of Superman, Scorpion and Black Adam shenanigans. Rooting for ChrisG's Green Arrow to win it, or basically anyone not playing one of those characters.

There is the idea going around that NRS made Superman and Zod overpowered to promote the new movie.

I just hope someone shows off a good anti-Morrigan/Doom strategy in Marvel because that game is getting very boring to watch.

Nah, that's silly. For Zod, he'll be toned down like Batgirl and Scorpion in a future patch; they don't seem to have well-tested any of the DLC characters for balance. No excuses for Superman though, they just made him too good in almost all respects.

I agree about Marvel, it's gotten a bit repetitive. Seems like that game has gotten kinda figured out already. Even MvC2 had the same teams over and over again after a while though.

strange moment this year - seeing a blind guy almost get out of pools in MK

also bizarre that they're playing Smash Melee (13 years!) vs. Brawl

ChrisG didn't get past the pools in SF4:AE -- beaten by Mike Ross who then got beaten by Arturo Sanchez. 1600 players o_0

I didn't watch any MK -- who's the blind player? and does he play Kenshi?

oh shit, ChrisG's Sakura is really good too. hardly a shame to get beaten by the old timers though

haha that would totally make sense, but he actually plays Cyrax (name - OBS|KH RattleHead) i think since he knows the spacing from blocked/hit bombs, nets, and teleport, he could use that knowledge with sound cues to play effectively. pretty amazing to watch!

This will likely be MK's last Evo, they only had about 230 players. By contrast, Super Smash Bros Melee, the game that got voted in by the fans, had about 700. For a game from 2001! I think the MK players moved to Injustice, like how the Blazblue players moved to Persona.

But damn, I can only imagine the logistics in setting up a tournament with 1600 players with two brackets of all 1v1 matches. That's gotta be nuts.

normally i hate watching infinites but seeing this guy pull off an infinite named after himself with the Ice Climbers in Melee is just really entertaining

holy shit @ Justin Wong eliminating ChrisG in UMvC3 losers semis - crowd absolutely hating ChrisG and fully behind Justin, he crawled back from 2-0 to win three straight with his Akuma/Storm/Wolverine team vs. ChrisG's Morrigan/Doom/Vergil

Justin Wong vs. ChrisG in Marvel was quite a set. Justin was doing an air combo and dropped the combo where he would normally TAC, catching Chris doing the tech motion and Justin got a new combo started.
