I KNOW YOUR TRUE IDENTITY, LAGOON.

[Former Warriors GM Larry] Riley, however, didn't need a workout since he was already high on Curry after seeing him play against Purdue early in his junior season. Riley liked him even more during a predraft camp interview, ranked him the second-best player behind Griffin and likened him to two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash.

His dad made him dramatically change his shooting form in high school which partly accounts for his poor recruiting ranking in HS. Also means his dad is a genius of some sort.

Yes

feel like everyone prob remakes their shot in high school / its not that big of a deal, like in that video of him at 14 hes just not strong enough to have an adult high release, his release is still on the low side tbh which is pretty amazing considering how well he gets it off in tight spaces

lag∞n, Tuesday, 5 May 2015 23:10 (nine years ago) link

like he was still scoring 50 pts in games i dont think the shot doctoring held him back much

lag∞n, Tuesday, 5 May 2015 23:11 (nine years ago) link

where are you getting these post shot doc HS splits

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 5 May 2015 23:34 (nine years ago) link

i just have an encyclopedic knowledge of of possibly made up or maybe read one time steph facts, anyway i contend that my assertion is true that theres really no such thing as "rebuilding yr shot" in high school since p much everyones shot is still very much in the process of being built in the first place at that point yr body is still growing changing etc

lag∞n, Tuesday, 5 May 2015 23:59 (nine years ago) link

like what % of serious ballers enter high school at 13 with essentially the same shot as they exit at 18

Sufjan Grafton, Wednesday, 6 May 2015 00:22 (nine years ago) link

btw feel like ive noticed an unusual motion in both steph and even more so klays shot, seems like they both start with the ball a little lower and more in front of them than is typical then they generate a lot of force pushing their whole arm up from the shoulder making their forearm look like a piston going straight up, where a normal shot wld start a little higher and have more force provided by straightening out the elbow, wonder if that comes from a warriors coach or if they rubbed off on each other or its just a coincidence or im just imagining it or what

that beats his highlight reel from the entire championship series. got it done though.

vlade dvorak (rip van wanko), Monday, 2 November 2015 16:45 (nine years ago) link

steph was def quasi shook the whole playoffs if he cld maintain this sort of confidence it ld be bad for the other teams

lag∞n, Monday, 2 November 2015 16:48 (nine years ago) link

yeah he would get a lil shook then turn it on for a quarter or two at a time, enough to win. nice having a great team.

Spottie, Monday, 2 November 2015 16:50 (nine years ago) link

feel like theres maybe some correlation between his distaste for drawing fouls and playoff D being more effective on him than it shdve been

lag∞n, Monday, 2 November 2015 16:52 (nine years ago) link

really the only remaining hole in his offensive game since he started hitting his layups

lag∞n, Monday, 2 November 2015 16:54 (nine years ago) link

yeah props xp, those hard double teams got him out of rhythm, and he wasn't getting the rinky dink calls he was getting throughout the year. which is good.

I'm more impressed with how few turnovers he has than anything so far.

“I didn’t feel like just one of (the athletes) at first, because people were coming up to me saying, ‘Can I have a picture with you?’” said Curry, who, at 36, is competing in his first Olympics. “It was that type of vibe. I had to actually stop and tell them, like, ‘No, I want to know who you are, what you do and level the playing field, because you’re here for a reason too.’”

Aww Steph!
