if you're in good shape it's great, gives you such an advantage

have you ever even read The Drudge Report? Have you gone on Stormfron (k3vin k.), Monday, 22 August 2016 22:49 (eight years ago)

my problem with it is finding 7 others who are in good enough shape. otherwise it turns into a shitshow after a few times up n down the court.

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Tuesday, 23 August 2016 02:35 (eight years ago)

Def not in good enough shape for full anything but i can dream

geometry-stabilized craft (art), Tuesday, 23 August 2016 02:58 (eight years ago)

hah i have an older mate who i normally play to 21 with, standard procedure is for him to get up like 14-nil before he runs out of puff and i win by a point

micah, Tuesday, 23 August 2016 04:37 (eight years ago)

i used to to run for like 3-4 hours a night. done after a few good games now :/

Spottie, Tuesday, 23 August 2016 04:40 (eight years ago)

one month passes...

spin or behind the back dribble going toward the basket when someone is overplaying yr strong hand on the perimeter is such a crucial move to have in ones arsenal

lag∞n, Wednesday, 12 October 2016 04:48 (eight years ago)

get the ball on yr back hip wait for them to lunge and then go

lag∞n, Wednesday, 12 October 2016 04:50 (eight years ago)

two weeks pass...

I Was Never Jackie Chan, and I’m Not Jeremy Lin

i get his point -- and the story about the guy at the bank (among others) is fucked up -- but i think this is kind of the culture of pickup? you don't know names, there are no numbers, so people make up shorthand

mookieproof, Wednesday, 26 October 2016 18:28 (eight years ago)

as a white person i wld like to state that i am the true vicitm

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 October 2016 18:34 (eight years ago)

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 October 2016 18:34 (eight years ago)

i tried the mkg feet-perpendicular-to-the-baseline-spin-ball-off-side-of-hand corner 3 yesterday and had to stop after a couple shots b/c it was making my hand feel weird

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 26 October 2016 18:43 (eight years ago)

love that the first video is a blatant travel

k3vin k., Wednesday, 14 December 2016 21:50 (eight years ago)

only a travel if it gets called :)

lag∞n, Wednesday, 14 December 2016 21:56 (eight years ago)

noticed a lot of guys shot with their feet parallel and at an angle these days, been giving it a shot and its very powerful, easy to generate some loft under the ol ball

lag∞n, Saturday, 17 December 2016 00:40 (eight years ago)

what u mean

k3vin k., Saturday, 17 December 2016 01:46 (eight years ago)

ha yes that was not clear, feet parallel angled toward the shooters offhand side like 15 degrees, feel like a lot of ppl myself included shoot w the stronghand side foot at that angle but the weak foot is m/l pointing forward creating a pigeon toed stance, then there are also all sorts of more squared up 1-2 set ups with the strong foot well forward of the weak foot

lag∞n, Saturday, 17 December 2016 02:03 (eight years ago)

im gonna need a graph and mockup

Spottie, Saturday, 17 December 2016 02:29 (eight years ago)

oh yeah squaring up is totally archaic at this point ime

k3vin k., Saturday, 17 December 2016 02:43 (eight years ago)

it's like closed forehand stance in tennis or elbow up in baseball, more of a low-level coaching cliche than anything that is actually useful

k3vin k., Saturday, 17 December 2016 02:44 (eight years ago)

it's cool if it works or keeps yr elbow in or something but idg why it would generate extra loft?

mookieproof, Saturday, 17 December 2016 02:46 (eight years ago)

it feels like yr generating torque through yr core but idk

u cn see it this coach nick breakdown of stephs form, he calls the motion it generates "the turn"

lag∞n, Saturday, 17 December 2016 03:46 (eight years ago)

its weird it doesnt seem like it shd work but then when u do it it feels really natural

lag∞n, Saturday, 17 December 2016 03:50 (eight years ago)

I see now. Love those coach nick breakdowns

Spottie, Saturday, 17 December 2016 04:01 (eight years ago)

are u making more shots now y/n

mookieproof, Saturday, 17 December 2016 04:02 (eight years ago)

just been messing around w it cant say also my shooting shoulder is mildly injured which kinda fs the whole process up

lag∞n, Saturday, 17 December 2016 07:35 (eight years ago)

one month passes...

i played basketball all the time in high school but then i broke my ankle and hadn't really since but i went last night to play w/ a bunch of guys and damn i do not remember it being so demanding - i've been exercising and stuff so i'm not totally out of shape but after the first 15 min game i was totally wiped out. i didn't do terribly - took two shots, missed both but took a foul on one of them. got 2 rebounds. guy i was covering didn't score, rebound or assist so that was good. but damn. i mean i guess it's good if i keep doing it i'll actually get into better shape but it's not like i remember being in particularly good shape in high school. it's like my entire body has basketball atrophied.

Mordy, Thursday, 19 January 2017 19:56 (eight years ago)

yea my first time back after not playing for years was rough. i was sore for days

marcos, Thursday, 19 January 2017 19:58 (eight years ago)

u old

mookieproof, Thursday, 19 January 2017 20:00 (eight years ago)

it's a totally different type of fitness than just like exercising on yr own

call all destroyer, Thursday, 19 January 2017 20:00 (eight years ago)

also my shot was never particularly good but now it's embarrassingly bad so i gotta practice that a bit

Mordy, Thursday, 19 January 2017 20:03 (eight years ago)

basketbtall is the best

k3vin k., Thursday, 19 January 2017 20:23 (eight years ago)

it is

i feel like if i could play once a week or a few times a month i would be in great shape

marcos, Thursday, 19 January 2017 20:25 (eight years ago)

cad otm, basketball shape is pretty different than normal shape. One thing I notice that gets sore after I play a lot is my shoulders/traps due to putting your arms up and down so much

Spottie, Thursday, 19 January 2017 20:25 (eight years ago)

once a week goes a long way honestly

Spottie, Thursday, 19 January 2017 20:25 (eight years ago)

injuries tho are kind of scary and seem like they easily occur in basketball, i had some weird shit happen the last time i played (tho i played probably too hard) and hyperextended my knee a little bit, it wasn't fun

marcos, Thursday, 19 January 2017 20:27 (eight years ago)

we did too much that day. i think we played for like 2-3 hours, full court 4 on 4 and it was exhausting

marcos, Thursday, 19 January 2017 20:29 (eight years ago)

injuries are v bad for hoops. I've had quite a few. some from years back that still affect me.

Spottie, Thursday, 19 January 2017 21:57 (eight years ago)

both my ankles are fucked so I have no expolosiveness to finish nor do I have much strength...but I get a ton of aerobic exercise so I just try to out-stamina everyone, even the young guns. After a few games I start getting wide open looks cause defender gave up on chasing me around :D

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Friday, 20 January 2017 21:12 (eight years ago)

i hate your kind

mookieproof, Friday, 20 January 2017 21:29 (eight years ago)

lol

Spottie, Friday, 20 January 2017 21:31 (eight years ago)

i think i retired again its too hard on my body + i have to play a ton to stay on top of my game, it was a sweet swan song tho

lag∞n, Friday, 20 January 2017 21:36 (eight years ago)

smh

Spottie, Friday, 20 January 2017 21:44 (eight years ago)
