mason is a good example of a non-dominant mid-level nba player who has at least one top level skill, which definitely makes him more valuable than if all his skills were just mid-level

hes crazy athletic and huge he shd be so much better than he is

that's one theory.

in my view, everyone in the nba is crazy athletic and 90% of them work their freaking tails off to get better. the last tiny increment of skill that separates a dominant player from a very good one can't be acquired by putting in more time in the gym; it's innate.

most guys his size dont have nearly his athleticism

I am pretty big on plums becoming pretty good but never being great and I bet like milwaukie or whatever gives him a near-max whenever that can happen
