the klay/kd injuries are shut-it-down-for-a-while injuries imo, not serious. Draymond is really the one to keep an eye on imo, if he doesnt have the ability to turn it up to 90-100% in those games when they need him to do that then that will mean trouble, or at least long series that shouldnt be long. the warriors defense when curry sits out is incredible, and the offense hovers around 10th in the league (they sink when KD sits tho). with KDs minutes likely on the rise in the offs, they really should be able to beat anyone w/o curry except the rockets.

they gotta sign quinn cook should be their number 1 priority right now tho
― they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Saturday, 24 March 2018 21:21 (six years ago) link
yeah idk there are just a ton of teams playing really good basketball rn and those shut it down for a while injuries often linger
― lag∞n, Saturday, 24 March 2018 21:35 (six years ago) link
i wldnt want to see okc beating up on my shorthanded small team if i were the dubs
― lag∞n, Saturday, 24 March 2018 21:36 (six years ago) link
paul george running around harassing kd, it cld get ugly
― lag∞n, Saturday, 24 March 2018 21:37 (six years ago) link
also the jazz i wld be scared of the jazz, the other matchups are prob fine, tho portland is flammable
― lag∞n, Saturday, 24 March 2018 21:38 (six years ago) link
yeah dubs want no part of okc tbf. they would prob win but would take a beating in the process.
― they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Saturday, 24 March 2018 21:39 (six years ago) link
they r brutes 4 sure
― lag∞n, Saturday, 24 March 2018 21:39 (six years ago) link
the jazz ability to force a halfcourt game wld be bad for the dubs especially if theyre down to only one guy who can really break the D down
― lag∞n, Saturday, 24 March 2018 21:41 (six years ago) link
those games would be some defensive slugfests
― they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Saturday, 24 March 2018 21:43 (six years ago) link
basically these playoffs just got a lot more interesting
― they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Saturday, 24 March 2018 21:44 (six years ago) link
if it happens to line up jazz-okc-rockets-toronto for the dubs that wld be a fn epic journey
― lag∞n, Saturday, 24 March 2018 21:44 (six years ago) link
every one of those series would be great except for the finals
― they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Saturday, 24 March 2018 21:45 (six years ago) link
toronto......might be good

i want to believe but i'm not gonna fall for it again.
― they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Saturday, 24 March 2018 21:51 (six years ago) link
yeah im def in prove it mode, but i like what theyre done this year theyve been blatantly better than those past teams that fizzled out
― lag∞n, Saturday, 24 March 2018 21:53 (six years ago) link
maybe they can win a first round series in less than 7 games
― they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Saturday, 24 March 2018 21:56 (six years ago) link
a reasonable expectation imo
― lag∞n, Saturday, 24 March 2018 21:56 (six years ago) link
their real improvement is their bench, who are obv very unproven, and a deep bench doesnt mean much in the postseason. derozan's 3p shooting is p much smoke n mirrors imo.
― they call me melo gelo (Spottie), Saturday, 24 March 2018 22:02 (six years ago) link
idk they switched their offense up a bunch, much more ball movement much less iso that tends to bog down in the offs
― lag∞n, Saturday, 24 March 2018 22:05 (six years ago) link
yeah agree on that. everything on paper points to them winning the east...

we might see a lot of russ-PG-jerami grant-brewer-adams in the playoffs
i feel like everyone knew this was his destiny but then it happened overnight

warriors getting blown out at home by the jazz. entirely expected given their starting lineup was looney- mcgee - nick young - mccaw - quinn cook

ha wow rough

melo had 6 points on 13 shots tonight, including three bricked threes in one possession in the clutch

Tough finish for Carmelo Anthony: He missed three straight potential dagger 3s with OKC up three and a few minutes left, then with OKC down two with 20 seconds left got trapped in the corner with no timeouts and threw the ball away on a drive. Aminu split free throws and Melo had a chance to atone on a pull-up 3 but missed long.

i definitely thought he'd be pretty ok at catching passes off drive and kicks and hitting 3 pointers

he really shd be but his legs are just gone

i've rarely seen five minutes of basketball much worse than melo in the last five tonight
― Clay, Monday, 26 March 2018 02:17 (six years ago) link
maybe he worked out in his hoodie too much last summer
with OKC down two with 20 seconds left got trapped in the corner with no timeouts and threw the ball away on a drive
this was particularly nuts, like a talented high school player who never had to learn how to pass out of a double team

thought this celtics-kings video re the police murder of stephon clark was interesting, it starts out pure insubstantial corporate marketing boilerplate with the it doesnt mater what color you are we are one etc but then the say his name part is quite strong, of course mentioning what the problem at hand is is a bridge too far
the fact that it happened at all is pretty strong contrast to the nfl and generally to big corporate entities everywhere
Thank you to the Kings & Celtics for leaning into this moment instead of away from it - which is what the NFL did for nearly two years. #StephonClark was an unarmed, non-violent 22 year old Black man shot at 20 times & killed by @SacPolice in his own backyard.
