warriors getting blown out at home by the jazz. entirely expected given their starting lineup was looney- mcgee - nick young - mccaw - quinn cook

Tough finish for Carmelo Anthony: He missed three straight potential dagger 3s with OKC up three and a few minutes left, then with OKC down two with 20 seconds left got trapped in the corner with no timeouts and threw the ball away on a drive. Aminu split free throws and Melo had a chance to atone on a pull-up 3 but missed long.

i definitely thought he'd be pretty ok at catching passes off drive and kicks and hitting 3 pointers

maybe he worked out in his hoodie too much last summer
with OKC down two with 20 seconds left got trapped in the corner with no timeouts and threw the ball away on a drive
this was particularly nuts, like a talented high school player who never had to learn how to pass out of a double team

thought this celtics-kings video re the police murder of stephon clark was interesting, it starts out pure insubstantial corporate marketing boilerplate with the it doesnt mater what color you are we are one etc but then the say his name part is quite strong, of course mentioning what the problem at hand is is a bridge too far
the fact that it happened at all is pretty strong contrast to the nfl and generally to big corporate entities everywhere
Thank you to the Kings & Celtics for leaning into this moment instead of away from it - which is what the NFL did for nearly two years. #StephonClark was an unarmed, non-violent 22 year old Black man shot at 20 times & killed by @SacPolice in his own backyard. a lot of it is focusing on their right to speak, i think its good that theyre encouraging each other but it also feels a little meta and apolitical for the seriousness of the topic at hand, exercise yr right to speak just by speaking

the nuggets play only playoff teams (+one vs the clippers who are still trying) the rest of the way. I think it's fairly safe to say they're out.
Still a lot of potential shuffling between 4-8 to be had, though.

Imagine if the Hornets could play this well against teams not angling for lottery position. They might be playing for something. But nope, the pressure of possibly mattering was too much for them.

fultz ended up having a dece game all things considered
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 27 March 2018 02:12 (six years ago) link
the hornets had a flukey bad record in close games and also they're not the most talented team out there. i love kemba a lot but they legit got jumped by the bucks, sixers, pacers, etc. all of whom have better talent either in one guy or a few guys.
― call all destroyer, Tuesday, 27 March 2018 02:16 (six years ago) link
Charlotte also has a bad front office and coach. Kemba’s good and it’s a shame to see him wasted there.

kemba to the cavs obv
i did think fultz looked impressive physically tho. i'm not sure how great he is as a leaper and he's prob too thin but he has really long arms for a guard. we'll see how he, embiid & simmons all fit on offense but at least on defense that's a lot of wingspan.
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 27 March 2018 02:32 (six years ago) link
kemba on the spurs would be amazing. there's some tony parker to his game.
