btw i thought of a way to explain marcus smart to the nation: small draymond

brad is nice!

very nice, apparently too nice to coach egos. shame really.
― Spottie, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 20:35 (five years ago) link
everyone just needs to be nice like brad
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 20:36 (five years ago) link
in all seriousness tho every celtic except marcus morris started off the season looking like they just took a very long nap and theyve started to get on track one by one kyrie al and jayson are all doin stuff now i think its headed in the right direction
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 20:39 (five years ago) link
also worth noting the celtics have had the hardest sched in the league played a ton of road games etc, all the computer rankings still like them (tho not at a champ level)
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 20:40 (five years ago) link
i still think theyll be fine but we gotta get these jokes off in the meantime
― Spottie, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 20:45 (five years ago) link
yeah i feel confident theyll reach a level of fineness, but really they need to get it to clicking if they wanna make some noise
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 20:46 (five years ago) link
also imo there are legit concerns about brads offense, some sort of mini kerr type drama, like why really fuck w all this ball and player movement when u cld just destroy teams by running the kyrie/al pnr 50 times a game
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 20:48 (five years ago) link
they cld use a second very attacking ballhandler too tbqh
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 20:49 (five years ago) link
started to get on track one by one
have had the hardest sched in the league played a ton of road games etc
how does the knicks game fit into this theory?
― fact checking cuz, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 20:51 (five years ago) link
rozier has been legit awful. i checked his stats cos it seemed like he had such a good season last year but dude still shot 39% yikes.
― Spottie, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 20:52 (five years ago) link
yeah hes not a good scorer, can hit a catch and shoot 3 but is hopeless driving, just cant find makable shots inside the arc
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 20:53 (five years ago) link
also continually does that horrible thing where he gives up on a drive when he has a half a step on his guy
great defender tho
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 20:54 (five years ago) link
this is true! it's also the sequel to mr bungle iirc

as a single game idk
they shoulda sold high last season after he had all those trip dubs when kyrie went down. im sure they could bamboozle the suns still tho.
― Spottie, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 20:54 (five years ago) link
terry is dannys son tho so he cant trade him
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 20:58 (five years ago) link
btw noticed in the kyrie/smart configuration theyre using kyrie off the ball a bunch to get him looks on the move going toward the basket and it seems promising, smart is low key an excellent distributor which i dont really understand since teams dont actually have to guard him, but i guess its just they do guard him anyway, and tbf he can kinda hit an open shot/take an open lane if u give it to him and hes always going to be opportunistic so he doesnt make finding the right balance of guarding him and not guarding him easy
i mean, they're going to finish november having beat exactly two teams with winning records in the entire month. i'm not ready to admit they've done anything remotely resembling turning their season around yet.
― fact checking cuz, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 21:01 (five years ago) link
tho tbf the knicks game does fit a pattern of them just getting wrecked by attacking guards even ones as lowly as trey burke, hopefully inserting smart into the starting5 will help with this
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 21:02 (five years ago) link
id prob be a little more surprised at them continuing to play at a throughly mediocre level than running off ten in a row, but i guess neither wld really surprise me
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 21:03 (five years ago) link
i mean theres prob a large aspect to their play so far thats just everyone randomly slumping at the same time, and then there are some real issues that need addressing too, but i mean theyve got the talent to be an elite team and in the nba talent usually wins out
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 21:06 (five years ago) link
(xp) yeah, neither would surprise me either. but for now i think i have to side with the "when someone shows you who they are, believe them" faction.
― fact checking cuz, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 21:06 (five years ago) link
srsly tho if u look at kyrie, jayson, als game logs u can see them picking it up theyre all playing much better than at the start of the season
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 21:07 (five years ago) link
jaylen/gordon/terry still need to get it going tho

what if this is finally the team that breaks danny and he gets all setimental and can't trade terry or hayward
― k3vin k., Wednesday, 28 November 2018 21:10 (five years ago) link
climb almost all the way to the mountain top only to turn back lol
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 21:11 (five years ago) link
fwiw imo trading stars who signed with you as a free agents is a bad look if you want to continue signing guys like that, tho itd prob be forgivable to trade gordon if he never really gets on track and its part of some blockbuster to get brow or whoever
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 21:14 (five years ago) link
btw brow is putting up mvp level numbers and the pelicans are playing 500 ball

― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 21:25 (five years ago) link
tbf his shooting % isnt really at mvp level but thats indicative of playing on a bad team

btw celtics cant trade for brow until the offseason when kyrie opts out of his contract and resigns due to a rule against having two supermax contracts that youve traded for or some shit
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 21:40 (five years ago) link
not sure why brow would want to go to another 500 team in the weak conference
― k3vin k., Wednesday, 28 November 2018 21:40 (five years ago) link
however he should trade himself to the denver nuggets
kevin please follow brads example and be nice on this thread instead of rude
celtics have 4 1st round picks this year too lol, send them all for brow afaic who cares!
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 21:43 (five years ago) link
agree that brow is necessary
― ciderpress, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 21:53 (five years ago) link
4 1st round picks this year too
will LOL if turns out their own pick is the only good one.
will also cry.

virtuoso shit here from kyrie going from fumbling the ball directly into hitting an insanely difficult shot with perfect balance

that rules
― call all destroyer, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 23:49 (five years ago) link
as i have said before a huge amount of the celtics struggles can be traced to taking bad 2-point shots which i think is pretty easy to correct. 2 of brown/rozier/hayward should end up playing better in a clarified role though i'm really starting to doubt that hayward ends up being a positive player this season.
― call all destroyer, Wednesday, 28 November 2018 23:52 (five years ago) link
i think gordon will be good this year, as to how good??? idk

i got something to say and some ppl might not like it but kyrie is a treat, he is playing so good right now, like he continuously hits impossible shots while looking like hes not trying, hes playing slow out there, its getting to the type of situation where youre kind of surprised when he misses a 27ft pull up, also he used to be a savant with the ball in his hands but now hes rounding into a all around genius, you can see him applying his basketball IQ to the non ball handling parts of the game and its working, hes playing good D all in the passing lanes sniffing out plays making good cuts tracking down wayward rebounds etc, hes on one i recommend checking him out
