Dwyane Wade has signed a wide-ranging multiyear deal with WarnerMedia. He'll be a TNT NBA analyst, do studio appearances for Turner/CBS at the Final Four, work on projects for Bleacher Report - and his production company, 59th & Prairie, got a development deal for new content.

Clay, Wednesday, 23 October 2019 00:11 (five years ago) link

yeah im not sold

de-mamba mentality (Spottie), Wednesday, 23 October 2019 00:15 (five years ago) link

I agree. But Jalen was similar yet morphed into a good media personality.

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 23 October 2019 00:24 (five years ago) link

he's just never going to say anything interesting. i never heard him say anything interesting for however long he was playing.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 23 October 2019 00:31 (five years ago) link

yeah he's famous and will continue to be famous independent of basketball so it's not surprising that the TV networks would be after him even tho cad is 100% right

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 23 October 2019 01:20 (five years ago) link

wade as a tv personality will be like webber on quaaludes

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Wednesday, 23 October 2019 01:26 (five years ago) link

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 23 October 2019 01:34 (five years ago) link

CWebb just needs a new partner

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 23 October 2019 01:39 (five years ago) link

a lot of players doing pods now, anyone listening regularly to any?

_ Knuckleheads with Q Rich and Darius Miles is pretty fun but they are kinda boring, got some big guests like KD, Kobe and Wade
_ Matt Barnes and Stack Jack got one on showtime called All the Smoke. I like it so far, the JR smith one was pretty good
_ Road trippin with Channing and R Jeff - havent listened cos r jeff is a warriors h8r
_ JJ reddick one is pretty good
_ Winging it with Vince and Baze heard one it was fine

idk any more?

de-mamba mentality (Spottie), Friday, 1 November 2019 17:34 (five years ago) link

one w current players talking about the recent games theyd played / basketball thoughts on other teams games wld be cool

lag∞n, Friday, 1 November 2019 17:39 (five years ago) link

I can't listen to Q Rich cause friend went to school with him and I've heard several stories about what an asshole handsy jerk he was

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Friday, 1 November 2019 17:49 (five years ago) link

fair

de-mamba mentality (Spottie), Friday, 1 November 2019 17:53 (five years ago) link

You can tell JJ wants to be Professional Media Guy. Haven't listened to it in awhile but ya can be p good.

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Friday, 1 November 2019 18:02 (five years ago) link

sure he will be on tv upon retirement (after this season prob)

lag∞n, Friday, 1 November 2019 18:04 (five years ago) link

is JJ the most successful white guy duke failson

president of deluded fruitcakes anonymous (silby), Friday, 1 November 2019 18:12 (five years ago) link

probably yeah

de-mamba mentality (Spottie), Friday, 1 November 2019 18:21 (five years ago) link

i really like jared dudley on everything i hear him do. he breaks things down but also has grounded opinions and doesnt seem scared to rustle some feathers. im sure he'll have a voice in the media post retirement

de-mamba mentality (Spottie), Friday, 1 November 2019 18:22 (five years ago) link

jj's transformation from duke superstar who writes poetry about how hard it is to have haters into well liked low key nba role player is pretty stunning tbf

lag∞n, Friday, 1 November 2019 18:27 (five years ago) link

dude turned into the best hired gun in the league somehow. figured out just enough defense to be able to stay on the floor with any lineup. he looks pretty bad this year so far tho so it may be nearing the end of the line

de-mamba mentality (Spottie), Friday, 1 November 2019 18:32 (five years ago) link

it must suck to have millions of ppl continue to judge you for how you were when you were 20. not just speaking about JJ but pro atheletes in general.

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Friday, 1 November 2019 18:33 (five years ago) link

My memory of redick was that the defense was good by year 2 because the offense was struggling and he needed to compensate.

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 1 November 2019 18:56 (five years ago) link

imo he’s a classic example of a guy who does everything pretty well and one thing very well

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 1 November 2019 18:57 (five years ago) link

also has a great motor cool with just running around the whole game. he's a master of off-balance shooting, feel like he shoots as good fading to his right as he does completely set

de-mamba mentality (Spottie), Friday, 1 November 2019 18:59 (five years ago) link

he also got into sick shape, has to be one of the best-conditioned guys nowadays. for a guy who was wildly entitled and overrated coming out of school i give him credit for figuring out what he needed to change to stick in the nba and making it happen.

got over my Q Rich dislike...Knuckleheads is really good

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 20 November 2019 18:09 (four years ago) link

someone like Durant comes off much differently (ie better) with them 2 than any other interview I've heard

got over my Q Rich dislike...Knuckleheads is really good

Have they said what the knuckles meant yet

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 20 November 2019 18:18 (four years ago) link

iirc in an article from like last year miles said they stole it from a LA high school team and before that theyve said it was a pulling yr antenna out gesture ie having high awareness

lag∞n, Wednesday, 20 November 2019 18:22 (four years ago) link

I loved that clippers team btw

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 20 November 2019 20:32 (four years ago) link

That was the first clippers team that made people really think things could change there. Obviously the Elton Brand teams fulfilled it.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 20 November 2019 20:34 (four years ago) link

nah that would be the early 90's teams with Manning imo , they made it to the playoffs for the first time in LA two years in a row.

(•̪●) (carne asada), Wednesday, 20 November 2019 21:36 (four years ago) link

Yeah but those teams had larry brown coaching, that doesn’t count. The bobcats made the playoffs with Larry brown.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 20 November 2019 21:39 (four years ago) link

true! we were hyped for them though and went to a bunch of games those years . it was fun.

(•̪●) (carne asada), Wednesday, 20 November 2019 21:42 (four years ago) link

big draw of course was those tickets were cheap and we couldn't really afford to go The Forum much.

(•̪●) (carne asada), Wednesday, 20 November 2019 21:44 (four years ago) link

I like the podcast the guys from The Starters do for the Athletic, No Dunks. You may need a subscription for it

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 21 November 2019 16:11 (four years ago) link

idk dunks are good imo

lag∞n, Thursday, 21 November 2019 16:34 (four years ago) link

you don't need an athletic subscription for those pods. they're good but it's a little too much content every day, I'm listening to 2-3 a week

jesus is zing (symsymsym), Thursday, 21 November 2019 18:30 (four years ago) link

They cut loose more than they did on tv and also make fun of each other more
