i was listening to tim bontemps on something and he was saying the celtics were planning to run a lot more pick and roll with a center rim running b/c that's what their personnel is now. glad to see it's already happening.

The Celtics drafted like 5 guys that analytics guys love but seem destined to be 8th men
― Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 6 October 2019 23:59 (five years ago) link
i like that they're all pretty distinct and have identifiable skills.
they need to figure out how to keep tacko around. he's so disruptive already.

As I've said, if he can move his feet well enough to stay on the court in an NBA game, he's a keeper.

Apparently I am ignorant of the issue with Tacko. I wouldn't mind being enlightened what the issue is, if you'd be so kind.

He doesn’t like basketball or take it seriously
― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 10 October 2019 03:13 (five years ago) link
I can see how this would effectively prevent him from becoming a star player, but lots of people are lukewarm about their jobs, yet deliver adequate results to justify their employment and their earnings. If Tacko were to accept a contract, are you suggesting he would be happy to take the money, play like ass, and wash out of the league?
― A is for (Aimless), Thursday, 10 October 2019 03:18 (five years ago) link
He spent his college career goofing around and ended up undrafted and on an exhibit 10 contract. That’s who he is, so far.

Celtics are converting 7-foot-6 rookie Tacko Fall to a two-way contract, league sources tell ESPN. He will spend most of his season developing with G-League affiliate Maine, but can spend up to 45 days with Celtics in NBA.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) October 13, 2019

Whatever happened to the brilliant 'start five guys who are all 6' 8" tall' concept?
― A is for (Aimless), Monday, 14 October 2019 17:18 (five years ago) link
al horford flew the coop! and their best player is very short now
― lag∞n, Monday, 14 October 2019 17:18 (five years ago) link
horford was so central to their playmaking gotta think their offense is gonna look pretty different this year, assuming smart and hayward will take up a lot of that slack
― lag∞n, Monday, 14 October 2019 17:21 (five years ago) link
celtics basically lost their damn minds anytime horford wasnt on the court, kinda worrying

he was dad
― lag∞n, Monday, 14 October 2019 17:23 (five years ago) link
The 6' 8" experiment must happen! If that means benching their best player and losing some games, so be it. The future of hoops is at stake here and such small considerations must be swept aside for the greater good.

― ciderpress, Monday, 14 October 2019 18:04 (five years ago) link
i kinda think hayward is gonna have a good year. two years removed from the ankle snap, no more weird kyrie energy around him. more opportunities for playmaking
― de-mamba mentality (Spottie), Monday, 14 October 2019 18:05 (five years ago) link

Celtics should definitely trade for a 7 footer who can defend. I think the Magic and Celtics should make a Bamba deal honestly. It makes sense.
