yeah my last one took about an hour - 8 teams snake draft 90 seconds for each pick. I changed this one to 60 seconds per pick should go even quicker

10 or 10:30 EST Sunday night would be ideal but could start as early as 9 or at the later pacific-friendly time

so i did some Number Crunching in MicroSoft ExCel (the extra caps in SC stand for Sports Center)

using last year's data, the number one fantasy man per game using spottie's rules is james harden, the second is giannis, wow we got ourselves a mvp debate again!!!

also the player that most unfairly benefits from this scoring system is westbrook

i think percentages are really important for balance in fantasy hoops and would like to suggest we use them!

i wish missed shots could be a negative value, it would really penalize low-efficiency volume shooting that gets the PPG up

altho there arent a lot of ppl other than westbrook who are getting rewarded here, its mostly a reflection of the best talent, though it does reward big men more than it prob should.

the average distribution of a player's Spottie points in this system goes like this (w some rounding):
47% from PPG
26% from RPG
16% from APG
11% from SPG
7% from BPG
-6% from TO/G

big men less likely to have high TO rates and more like to have big REB and BLK so thats why 6 of the top 11 players from 18-19 would be centers (davis 3rd, joel 5th, towns, jokic, drummond, vucevic 8th-11th)

Think I’m gonna keep the draft time as is. I’ll mull Over adding another category. I find 8 cat the best. Head to head winner doesn’t matter as much as head to head category record so a tie won’t really matter in the end

please just don’t change the settings again, I initially assumed it was 8 category then saw yesterday it was points and so I redid my rankings accordingly and so now I learn that was a total waste of time

Sorry evol I dunno how it changed I never set it as a points league so maybe that was the default and I never set it up right. 8 cat will be the way.

so am I correct in surmising that we can adjust our lineups every day in this league? in other words you don't have to use the same lineup for an entire week? I couldn't find anything that would enable me to lock in a lineup for a whole week so I'm assuming this is the case, but maybe I just overlooked something.

correct. but if you want there is a 'start active players' button on the top left (or its the lightning button on the app) which lets you set the active players for the day or for the rest of the week. if you set it and then make a trade or waiver pickup then i think it resets it.

if we are establishing a precedent of multiyear participation, what are ppl's thoughts about keepers?

yah for the crew we had last time i auto-renewed the league with the 8 of us. We can add some more so if anyone else wants in let me know. Or if one of the OGs cant do it also let me know.

I'm down...keepers might be tough if anybody ever quits, but would be fun. As long as I'm not keeping last season's team

yah i like the idea of keepers but with a transient group it will be hard. think i'll just keep it as is for this league.

congrats spottie! i was dead in the water here missing the draft and ending up with all the creaky injured vets

my roster MVP for the full season was easily Dyson Daniels. Picked him up off waivers after the first game I believe, and he basically won me a single category every week + a little bit of everything else.

my playoff mvp was avdija, 14th round pick putting up like 1st-2nd round value for the last three weeks and no games missed.
