i agree with those tiers, i am interested to see if grant could break into the top tier once he gets a little more acclimated.
as far as how good they are i think there's indicators in both directions--brad has been trying a *lot* of combinations to get bench minutes and i expect one or two of them will settle in as decent units. on the other hand kemba's shooting is going to cool off and i'm getting increasingly worried that tatum's offense isn't going to approach what we hoped.
a top-2 seed in the east is much more in play than i expected since neither the sixers or bucks look super amazing.

kemba might just be that good at shooting considering the type of shots he had to take in charlotte w bad teammates
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 12 November 2019 18:10 (five years ago) link
he's def capable of 40% from 3 dunno about 43%
― ciderpress, Tuesday, 12 November 2019 18:13 (five years ago) link
yeah seems reasonable, and a lot of those are created of the dribble which if he sustains it makes him an elite shooter
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 12 November 2019 18:14 (five years ago) link
yeah i'd expect to see him back at more like 40% from 3. hasn't been great on 2s so far so maybe an improvement there would even out.

his path to offensive stardom prob goes through becoming an elite shooter ie being able to hit all those crossover into a stepback type shots which hes still on the trajectory for tho obvs its one of the hardest things to do so who knows, then from there he can pick his spots on drives but yeah he doesnt seem like he has star level finishing ability/feel/creativity around the basket, hes been trying to work in a floater this year and it looks just awful so far, hes already great in the open court so hes got that going for him
the good underreported news on him is hes also already a great defender and only getting better, so who knows maybe he ends up more of a two way player second banana on offense wldnt be the end of the world
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 12 November 2019 18:29 (five years ago) link
yeah, i think the immediate thing for this season is units that are just like tatum plus bench guys and if those are playable at all on offense. if jaylen's driving/slashing game keeps looking good he might be the better offensive lead guy on a bench unit while gordo is out.
― call all destroyer, Tuesday, 12 November 2019 18:35 (five years ago) link

didnt see it what did he do
― lag∞n, Thursday, 14 November 2019 03:09 (five years ago) link
he had semi still in the game missing layups under 2 mins with the wizards within 5. probably should have taken a timeout at 1:34 when it was 137-132. needed a clutch kemba 3 at 1:06 to put them up 7 and basically seal it.
they were playing no defense at all and i'm guessing he wanted them to feel the pressure a bit but they're starting a 5 game west coast trip and as a fan i was like let's just bank the damn win.

really need 1 more decent rotation player on the bench for times like these, missing starter minutes filtering down to rookies is not working out

key to the celtics who dont really seem that good when you watch them success this year has been not turning the ball over
The Celtics currently lead the NBA in offensive rating (112.7), net rating (8.8) and assist/turnover ratio (2.1).— Chris Grenham (@chrisgrenham) November 20, 2019

marcus has gone into the stands before these fans need to do their research
Smart says his altercation with fan occurred after his foot got stuck and he fell diving into stands and a fan told him to stay on his knees. “If we were in the streets it would have been handled differently.”He’s upset that Denver security didn’t appear to take action.— Adam Himmelsbach (@AdamHimmelsbach) November 23, 2019
