if maxey is better than sexton the sixers are in a pretty sweet spot

I haven't seen Sexton much, so grain of salt, just looking at their advanced stats and (wishful thinking) projecting Maxey to develop a bit more.

sexton has the right skills and style to be an nba lead ball handler aka a guy who can break down the defense and getting things happening, whether he will ever do it at a high enough level to really be a good lead ball handler well i wouldnt bet on it but he is at least the type of player the sixers need, tho hes also the type of guy who could really suffer from this new physicality if it persists because he is small

if the sixers have to settle for a package like him and love lol that would be bad for them tho not out of the realm of possibility but does seem like pretty much the floor they could get for simmons

celtics have been playing really good defense after starting out awful, next they just need to figure out offense

think theyll prob work their way to the good but not great team that was generally expected

a lot of people are saying the best offense is a good defense

this is much more the team profile i thought they would have

feel like they should be able to get to at least middling on offense

feel like this is right as far as their defensive improvement

Slowly but surely, Udoka has righted the ship with this group on the defensive end in the past two weeks with a number of subtle but effective moves. He’s scaled back the defensive switching among the team’s true bigs (Rob Williams). He’s also leaning more heavily into playing strong wing defenders (Josh Richardson, Romeo Langford) off the bench over potential defensive liabilities (Payton Pritchard, Jabari Parker).

Those shifts combined with some improved effort and understanding from Boston’s personnel has rocketed this group back towards the top of the NBA since the start of November. After Monday’s 98-92 win over the Cavs, Boston improved to 5-2 in its last seven games despite playing without Jaylen Brown for five of those contests.

the other day i was listening to bill simmons list his top rookies of this year and in my head i jokingly shouted "peyton pritchard!" (again, in my head...) and then i was like, wait what happened to that guy? his stats this year are ghastly! i guess his playing time is really getting jerked around tho looking at his game logs

xp if they can get both Js playing at the same time for most of the season the offense should move up to middling

Pritchard had insane buzz coming out of summer league and yeah, he's been awful.
