nice luxury tho to have two of the best hero ballers ever so you can just ride the hot hand on any given night
― jammin on the dud (Spottie), Tuesday, 8 March 2022 18:04 (two years ago) link
yeah tho kyrie ultimately because hes so small is stoppable where kd is not
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 8 March 2022 18:05 (two years ago) link
can't remember if i ended up asking this on the main thread at some point, but assuming kyrie gets cleared to play home games, where can he still not play? like who might they face in the offs and not have him available? raps i think, anyone else?

that was good. i like how he articulates playing deliberately but also making quick decisions--good tempo isn't always about playing fast but is definitely about being decisive when the right play is there for you
― call all destroyer, Wednesday, 9 March 2022 03:14 (two years ago) link
yeah tatum is def holding the ball less which is a big improvement along those lines

celtics basketball baby
A fun fact I just learned is that Marcus Smart is No. 1 in the NBA in loose balls recovered BUT Robert Williams is No. 1 in loose balls recovered per 36 minutes.— Tom Westerholm (@Tom_NBA) March 10, 2022

― Chyiv Kyiv (Fetchboy), Thursday, 17 March 2022 15:31 (two years ago) link
not gonna name any names but some people including coaches for the warriors are being very bitchy about a man diving for the ball
― lag∞n, Thursday, 17 March 2022 15:53 (two years ago) link
draymond said it was fine FWIW and we know he is normal
It was reckless and then he kicked klay but at the same time whatever that’s just how he plays. If Grayson did it to taytum tho I bet people would have feelings about it
― jammin on the dud (Spottie), Thursday, 17 March 2022 16:05 (two years ago) link
idk guys dive at balls near at each others feet every single game i dont think wed even be talking about it if kerr hadnt freaked out, and tbh he prob wouldnt have if marcus hadnt kicked klay on the very same play lol
― lag∞n, Thursday, 17 March 2022 16:07 (two years ago) link
ironically kicking klay was really only dangerous to marcus
― jammin on the dud (Spottie), Thursday, 17 March 2022 16:12 (two years ago) link
that too
― lag∞n, Thursday, 17 March 2022 16:13 (two years ago) link
And that’s why Kerr was mad just like any coach would be mad
― jammin on the dud (Spottie), Thursday, 17 March 2022 16:17 (two years ago) link
yeah you dont see coaches get into it with players much tho
― lag∞n, Thursday, 17 March 2022 16:20 (two years ago) link
doc maybe feel like he does it with some regularity besides that not that much

dray summing up the 2022 celtics pretty well
“They started off pretty shitty,” Green said. “The way they turned their season around, you really gotta give those guys credit.”

― Lavator Shemmelpennick, Thursday, 17 March 2022 18:44 (two years ago) link
they started off really bad but that was only for a couple weeks after that they had some injuries/werent really as bad as they seemed then in january they started playing really good and fortified that with some good trades at the deadline
― lag∞n, Thursday, 17 March 2022 19:10 (two years ago) link
this is irrelevant to the current celtics, but i was reading the athletic article about the '97 kansas jayhawks and look at little baby paul pierce

we need a book about the celtics mid-season vibes turnaround, or long-form article at the least

no one can agree on when the vibes shifted
― lag∞n, Monday, 21 March 2022 22:24 (two years ago) link
they are very likable and im now cheering for them to come out of the east (would also accept the bucks again, tho).
― jammin on the dud (Spottie), Monday, 21 March 2022 22:24 (two years ago) link
i feel like rock bottom was smart calling out tatum and brown to the press.
― Tracer Hand, Monday, 21 March 2022 22:24 (two years ago) link
yeh i remember that like it was yesterday. also seemed like everyone was done with the coach early on? idk this is an outsider perspective
― jammin on the dud (Spottie), Monday, 21 March 2022 22:25 (two years ago) link
they are a nice team its true and its doubly nice how home grown they are too welcome aboard spottie
― lag∞n, Monday, 21 March 2022 22:25 (two years ago) link
people were calling for brown and tatum to be broken up! lol
― lag∞n, Monday, 21 March 2022 22:28 (two years ago) link
gotta love homegrown talent building together. almost impossible to pull off and keep everyone together, anymore.
― jammin on the dud (Spottie), Monday, 21 March 2022 22:28 (two years ago) link
its funny cause they were really only genuinely bad for like the first two weeks of the season after that they had some injuries and blew a bunch of close games but had already started playing elite defense

― lag∞n, Monday, March 21, 2022 3:28 PM (seven seconds ago) bookmarkflaglink
... kinda rightfully so at the moment? didnt really seem like it was working and you dont want to go down the path the blazers went and wait too long to shake it up. the vibes were off, too. but they have figured it out so it looks dumb now. pairing two all-star wings/forwards who play defense is much better than two undersized guards tho, of course. much easier to build around. time lord development has been real fun to see.
― jammin on the dud (Spottie), Monday, 21 March 2022 22:33 (two years ago) link
naw it was definitely dumb then
― lag∞n, Monday, 21 March 2022 22:34 (two years ago) link
isn't there a whole 'do they like each-other?' element to it with them?
― jammin on the dud (Spottie), Monday, 21 March 2022 22:36 (two years ago) link
yeah i mean i cant speak to the behind the scenes stuff cause who really knows but from a basketball standpoint you just dont trade those guys
― lag∞n, Monday, 21 March 2022 22:37 (two years ago) link
i mean they already made multiple eastern conf finals together, theyre both big two way wings aka exactly the type of players everyone wants, which is why you know the actual people who could have traded them never considered it
― lag∞n, Monday, 21 March 2022 22:38 (two years ago) link
if theres one aspect of their game thats not a perfect fit its that neither of them are great passers, tho that is trending in the right direction, but otherwise theres no logical reason they cant play together
― lag∞n, Monday, 21 March 2022 22:40 (two years ago) link
road b2b with two starters out, trap game, vs okc but still
