1 Kansas what's going on

frogbs, Tuesday, 5 April 2022 02:08 (two years ago) link

ruh-roh North Carolina doing that thing where the other team goes on a run and they start playing like there's a squirrel running around inside the ball

frogbs, Tuesday, 5 April 2022 02:53 (two years ago) link

wow brutal way to lose a crucial possession

frogbs, Tuesday, 5 April 2022 03:33 (two years ago) link

whoaaa he was totally out of bounds they might have a chance

(just kidding NC is shooting 22% on 3s even though most of 'em were barely contested)

frogbs, Tuesday, 5 April 2022 03:39 (two years ago) link

god damn didn't even touch the rim

frogbs, Tuesday, 5 April 2022 03:43 (two years ago) link

ncaa hoop is crazy, that was fun. something about just two halves and no quarters makes everything so intense

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 5 April 2022 03:49 (two years ago) link

braun definitely the guy i'd want on kansas to guard the last 3pt shot.
not sure what happened to manek on that last possession.
david mccormack you big stiff i love you

Not sure I’ve ever seen a team look as gassed as the tar heels in that second half

Holy shit this might have decided the title

rip mike brey

not really sure how he managed to hang on that long, but i guess they don't really care about basketball in south bend

mookieproof, Friday, 20 January 2023 03:31 (one year ago) link

along similar lines, i've no idea how chris collins is still northwestern's coach

mookieproof, Friday, 20 January 2023 03:33 (one year ago) link

Brey is a very nice guy that had some good years. I don't think people want to see him go, but this year is bad. He put together a flawed roster with no rim protection or rebounding. I don't know if Wesley could have saved it.

Cinta Kaz is comin' to town (Sufjan Grafton), Friday, 20 January 2023 04:50 (one year ago) link

it's hypocritical of me to bash him, sorry -- he's a good coach! but obviously he hasn't made the irish a basketball power

and it's hardly his fault the ACC is fading into irrelevance in men's hoops

I have no idea how you could pick this years tournament.

I got to think this is going to be pretty wacky but I will be disappointed if it ends up being old guard teams (except obviously IU).

The Artist formerly known as Earlnash, Tuesday, 28 February 2023 00:28 (one year ago) link

IU can do it if they play Purdue in every game

Cinta Kaz is comin' to town (Sufjan Grafton), Tuesday, 28 February 2023 02:20 (one year ago) link

houston is the only team with a top 10 offense and defense, per kenpom. bama and kansas rank in the top 20, while ucla and uconn just miss

avatár the way of watár (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 28 February 2023 03:22 (one year ago) link

Back when I was at IU, they used to call the lower seats the ‘gray line’ as when they built the place you could get same season tickets year after year. They started getting good with Knight second year the building was built and pretty much all the lower tickets were all a bunch of older fans for 30+ years hence below the gray line.

It’s not that way now and the odd configuration of the building built to keep ice for the hockey club( long gone) makes it an unbelievably loud place to play hoops.

It’s got to be one of the toughest places to play these days.

I just don’t want F’in Kansas or Arizona or Houston - any of those cheating Mf’ers to win.

Vanderbilt played out of their mind beating UK a couple days ago.

Kentucky has boodles of talent but they play so much like mismatched pieces. When it works they beat Kansas at home by 20+, then they lose games like this one. Pretty much N.C.A.A. hoops, only thing consistent is inconsistency.

Ragin’ Cajuns gave the Vols a good game.

Arkansas/Illinois is the game I think could be fun to watch. That could be an old school Big East slug fest, as both teams play pretty bare knuckles on D and at times shoot up total wtf you doing shots.
