The only takeaway from the Celtics last night was it was the first night they did not feel like themselves. The first time it just felt like they weren't doing what they do. Warriors defense was locked in but the pace/tempo/movement didn't feel the same.

but whatever its just a regular season road game in the middle of a long trip in which they are currently 3-1, having said that were the celtics to make the finals it would be cool if they played someone other than the warriors, just for varietys sake

I didn't see the game but he apparently called like one time out in the entire last quarter and a half

yeah in the last minute of regulation one of the tv guys was like the celtics still have two timeouts! and i was all addressing the tv first time watching the celtics

wonder if theres any stats out there about whether calling timeout when youre doing bad works, id think making substitutions prob has value but i wonder if the just calming the guys down/coaching them does, saw an interview with joe mazz where he was skeptical of the idea

theres obvs a training aspect to his system hes always saying that the players need to learn to dig themselves out but i think he just might hate timeouts on the in game merits

Udoka abjured the TO at traditional junctures a couple of times last year and it was like a Big Deal but it's just how Joe does it it seems. i don't hate it but at the same time The Big Mo is real in the NBA afaict so doing what you can to halt it when it's going against you would seem wise
