a big problem is that the new york teams don’t seem to be willing to lose their shirts for him even tho they could both put together a massive 5 pick style offer. but it doesn’t seem like the knicks are involved at all & if all brooklyn needs to do is beat miami’s offer they don’t need to do all that. but how badly do the nets want him, nobody really knows

if the clippers were willing to move pg then they might be in the mix

i 100% believe portland is giving him an effective no trade clause i also believe dame doesn’t want people saying that the blazers were forced to take some shitty offer for him. so does dame start expanding his list or does it become one of these things where the league like bands together to get the guy to his team & to get the team save face level assets in return. i kinda feel like it’s gonna be the latter but we’ll see

It's getting very obvious that moving Lillard to a contender for a reasonable return package is not going to happen any time soon. Too many competing interests and not enough flexibility in the CBA to allow all those interests to be smoothly meshed. yeah maybe he knows something I don't but this seems a bit different than what the Heatles or last year's Lakers did. to me it just looks like they may have a good garbage time lineup

watanabe was just in a playoff series where his team needed any help it could get to even be competitive and he played 5 mins in a 20 point game one loss and then got 3 straight DNPs

damion lee averaged 11 mpg in the playoffs and put up 2/1/1 averages on 30/20 shooting

okogie shot 2-14 from three in the playoffs

i'm not up on bates-diop game so maybe he's the skeleton key but he's a 27 year old who has taken 5 total shots in the playoffs in his career

I misread WME as WWE and was verrrry confused for a second.

the idea that the suns & lakers "got better" and now the west is better just highlights to me that the nuggets have a complete cakewalk back to the finals. the warriors are still the only team i'd say w/ any confidence could maybe sorta put up a real fight in the best case scenario but even that feels unlikely. imo it's reminiscent of the big 3 cavs years when they could sleepwalk thru three straight rounds.

i think the nuggets got worse is the thing, or stayed flat at best. they only played 6 dudes in the playoffs when it mattered and they lost their 4th best one. braun gonna have to make a leap and theyll need another youngster to step up.

i do think the lakers did smart things on the fringes but they still rely on one inconsistent and oft injured big and extremely old lebron to reach their ceiling.

like, the margins do typically matter for contenders but the nuggets just went 16-3 in the playoffs. the other teams in the west have a shit ton of ground to make up and the nuggets losing bruce brown & jeff green only accounts for so much of that ground. which is to say very little of it
