yeah thats what the local guys have been saying too, and i do think resigning him is the most likely outcome, but idk seems kinda weird

hes at that awkward level where hes good but overrated by box score stats / all-nba status so you can't really prove hes not worth the supermax to the people who matter, even if he isnt

obv you have to do it though as a true contending team

theoretically a team could sign a guy for more than the max but less than the full supermax, guy still gets more than he can elsewhere and the team save a lil bit, not sure if itll ever happen except maybe in a hometown discount sort of way

certainly more than youd like to pay him but what are you gonna do

barring major injury should be a pretty tradable contract for the life of the deal considering jaylen is 26 and the type of player who can fit in anywhere

this celtics roster you can see the vision their ceiling is prob higher now but its a pretty dicey road

ultimately you still gotta feel as good about tatum and brown longterm as just about any duo in the league. certainly in the east

yeah theres not a team that wouldnt pay them, but it does make getting and keeping other guys harder when two players are making that much

if jayson can take the next step into true mvp contender status theyre looking pretty good, if not some balls have to bounce their way

they should have added a mechanism to the CBA where if you extend a player you drafted it counts less against the tax or something. the celtics shouldn't have to feel queasy about extending two players of that caliber
