have you guys seen any tweet or article that accounts for the picks boston sent out and received in the smart & jrue deals? i've seen the "boston turned smart, brogdon, grant & rob into jrue & zinger" tweets but not any that includes the picks that went in/out too

not in a perfect capsule format but you could reconstruct it pretty easily. i have seen that flavor of tweet that only talks about rotation players but idk if i use that lens much.

iirc they traded one of their firsts for brogdon then they got two 1sts from memphis for smart and sent one of their own and one of the ones they got for smart out for jrue

the two firsts for smart have been burned through: one was sent out in the holliday deal & the other was chopped up instantaneously into walsh and the four future seconds. from a picks perspective it's basically net zero here depending on how much you value the second round picks

so they're essentially out 3 rotation players and a future unprotected first this offseason. ok this is what i wanted to know.

my 12 y o says it doesn't feel like the celtics anymore, it feels like they're just mashing teams up together

yeah celtics had an unusual run with a bunch of home grown guys now theyre just like every other team, tho they at least they still have the jays

the home grown team was basically good enough they just needed a 'true' point guard

its not like they werent already this sort of team a few years back when they brought in gordon hayward and kyrie (and later kemba) the home grown part was just a couple years between that sputtering out and now

we've spent days talking about bigger implications of all the moves but i can't wait to watch these guys play together, it's going to be fun

lots of fun teams this year, still feels pretty wide open between denver, boston, milwaukee, plus weird old man energy from the suns and lakers, and gs is always a wild card.

this also should give the bucks pause tho if middleton can find some health its prob not too bad, obvs a lot with the bucks d in general will depend on their back line and how they scheme, then if you look to the right there there are some questions about the celtics front court v giannis, grant got a lot of giannis minutes and now the only guy they have whos really stout enough to body him is horf who is old as you may have heard
