was just thinking about guys like hunter draft reaches described as "low ceiling high floor" and ive decided thats just not a thing if you have low ceiling thats because youre less talented which also means you have low floor

i think its a real thing with 4 year guys you just have so much more info about their game to work with, high floor just means a low chance of busting out of the league completely

hunter isnt one of those though so idk what people were on about

the hunter pick was a case of trying too hard to be perfect…like worrying about who fits w/trae young way more than just finding the most talented player.

yeah like you can see why they didnt take garland as hes so similar to trae but they wouldve been so much better off if they had

feel like groupthink is another big reason teams reach for supposedly solid guys high in the draft, theres an accepted list of high upside guys and if theyre all used up so you take a solid guy at 6 and then devin booker goes 13th, teams are afraid to break with orthodoxy, personally if im drafting 6 im the gm the big guy and all the sure things are off the board im taking a shot on a guy i think has a chance to be great

i don’t think hunter was a case of being too cute about fit. in their minds they thought they were drafting the kinda 3/4 wing 3 and D player that fits on any team regardless of the roster. the problem is that hunter is a pretty average player & they compounded the mistake by giving him an extension

i won’t kill them for not taking garland bcuz i don’t think that’s a viable backcourt. i will say tho that the entire league except one team whiffed on cam johnson and if the hawks had taken him instead they would be in a much better place. he’s not the lockdown defender the hawks thought hunter would be but that’s pretty much the player they wanted to get

Hunter’s good y’all just not a top 3 guy on the roster of a great team. I was more pointing out Bey’s recent productivity. it’s good to have a lot of guys who can guard the 3 and 4

the clippers wont trade one first one swap and terance mann for james harden, lol

well, i didn't have as good luck in my draft seeding in our company wolves tickets lottery, so i'm gonna go see the pistons. still was lucky, i got the 15th and final set of ticket available and they are very good seats (row M of the first deck) and you get a pair for $120 so pretty sweet either way

I didn't really watch him a whole lot prior to this but the only offensive thing he's good at now is if he gets a nice high touch pass timed perfectly while he's rolling to the rim but Connelly is the only one who can really do it

Reaves was a fun player for the Lakers down the stretch but he's definitely riding a wave of American sports fans' favorite narrative "scrappy white boy overcomes the odds by doing all the little things"

it is pretty cool he got here from being undrafted but his foul baiting is bad among the league worst

i mean if his numbers hold up with high usage hes a valuable player if hes just a complimentary guy whos picking his spots around stars that package of some offensive game without defense isnt too remarkable

i mean desmond bane shot 40% from 3 on 7 attempts a game, thats hard to do, reaves had half as many attempts

bane is also 40%+ all three years in the league, reaves was at 32% last year
