how soon we forget The Pritching Hour

the jumbotron operators absolutely must play a cheesy bowling alley animation for a turkey anytime that happens! huge missed opportunity

interesting the celtics goto crunch time offense has been...... zinger in the post, the thing he couldnt do that got him traded out of dallas, and now hes the most efficient big usage post player, turns takes two big steps and shoots a lil floater, gets fouled half the time, prob not something you can just spam in the offs but once teams go super switchy on d its nice to be able to post him up against a mismatch

if teams start collapsing on him in that situation and he gets better at passing it out then it’s pretty hard to defend against because you’ve got shot makers up and down the lineup

yup pretty nice sitch i do think hes good enough at passing now finding the open pass when your back is to the basket and your facing your guys is pretty easy

and basically anything is better than tatums stepback 3, last two years hes been the worst high usage pull up shooter in the nba, and i bets its all due to that stepback, walking into a 3, coming off a screen hes fine, hes an excellent catch and shoot shooter, but theres basically no excuse for taking stepback 3s, even late in the shot clock its slow developing you gotta enough time for the stepback you have enough time to drive and take a two going towards the basket, that goes for basically everyone its too hard of a shot, theres like three guys ever who shot it effectively

if i could eliminate two things the celtics do itd be tatum stepback 3s and brown initiating the offense

to jaylens point the celtics have been extremely solid over the years but i think that can be a trap being very aggressive is essential to winning at the highest level

pretty nice to already be 19-5 when you have your "energy shift" moment

issue with celtics trades is matching salaries they have the grant williams $6.2m tpe which cant be combined with other contracts so they can trade for a guy who makes ~$6m, then you have this pupu platter which is about ~10m, so theyre limited to trading for pretty small contracts is what it boils down to, and idk if they really want to just throw in jordan walsh either

pritchard make $4m and hauser makes $2m but youd have to be getting pretty decent player back to put those guys in which seems unlikely as its hard to find a player good enough to warrent that kind of trade whos on a mid level type deal and when teams have guys like that they tend to keep them, more likely they pick up a borderline rotation guy or two for second round picks

i do like stewart but giving up any 2 of pritchard hauser kornet leaves a lot of minutes to fill, assuming horf and/or kp will inevitably miss some important games.

they may just have to roll the dice with the buyout market. that doesn't seem to have been as big of a thing in recent years but the team is pretty sound and it's not crazy to think that the level of piece they need could come available that way, though full disclosure i haven't given any thought to who that might be lol

think theyll make a trade but could be a smaller one that doesnt give up either hauser or pritchard, feel like quenta makes kornet more expendable, and obvs depending on what position the guy they trade for plays any of those guys become more expendable

a lot of celtics trade scenarios run into the challenge of doing unbalanced trades when regular season roster limits are in effect.

i think they’ll be prudent, not sure the right guy will become available but luckily they don’t really *need* anything

seems like they prob wouldve done this if they were going to, too bad could make a lot more players available to them, but the team is tbf already very expensive
