After sitting the final 18 minutes of Nuggets loss, Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga has lost faith in Steve Kerr and no longer believes that Kerr will allow him to reach his full potential, sources say.

prob not the best idea to trade for a guy whos mad about playing time when hed get less pt upon arrival, and who knows if the celtics have what the warriors would want, but he would be perfect and only makes $6m a year so the celtics could actually trade for him

lagāˆžn, Friday, 5 January 2024 19:29 (one year ago)

kuminga/cp for jaylen brown is good i agree

infinite wiggles (Spottie), Friday, 5 January 2024 20:00 (one year ago)

hmm idk

lagāˆžn, Friday, 5 January 2024 20:02 (one year ago)

trading jaylen for cp3/jk devalues team continuity and stability too much

more difficult than I look (Aimless), Friday, 5 January 2024 20:06 (one year ago)

With the new cap rules looming, I don't see the Warriors trading Paul unless they're getting expiring contracts back.

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Friday, 5 January 2024 20:24 (one year ago)

brown is a real jekyll and hyde player. do you suffer thru the 8 turnover nights in order to reap the nights where he’s an unstoppable beast? last season i would have said no but this year i think you do

Humanitarian Pause (Tracer Hand), Friday, 5 January 2024 20:36 (one year ago)

jaylen has also had the best few weeks of his career recently

call all destroyer, Friday, 5 January 2024 20:39 (one year ago)

lagāˆžn, Friday, 5 January 2024 20:42 (one year ago)

micah, Friday, 5 January 2024 22:35 (one year ago)

when tatum picked up his fourth foul with like 8 minutes left in the third i really thought they were going to lose. just felt like one of those games. but how many times now has it been ā€œlast year the celtics would have lost that gameā€

Humanitarian Pause (Tracer Hand), Sunday, 7 January 2024 23:49 (one year ago)

lol they were joking around with kornet on the ft line right in the middle of a seeming collapse, confidence levels are high

lagāˆžn, Sunday, 7 January 2024 23:51 (one year ago)

that shit was hilarious! kornet is the best

Humanitarian Pause (Tracer Hand), Sunday, 7 January 2024 23:52 (one year ago)

why the hell was hauser taking those FTs at first btw

Humanitarian Pause (Tracer Hand), Sunday, 7 January 2024 23:53 (one year ago)

cause hes good at shooting

lagāˆžn, Sunday, 7 January 2024 23:53 (one year ago)

nesmith possibly emerging as a celtics villain, he def had something extra for them last night, it was too much tho he was awful, guess hes sore at them for trading him, perfect athlete brain lol, he shouldve tried being good at basketball when he was on the celtics if he didnt want to be thrown in a trade, anyway it worked out good for him he should be happy and calm down

Guess who’s responsible for injuring Porzingis, Hauser, AND re-aggravating Tatums ankle injury? https://t.co/Vmm1i9ScE8

have you ever heard him speak he has the craziest nasal nerd voice

lagāˆžn, Monday, 8 January 2024 00:01 (one year ago)

he should be thanking them every day for trading him, he’s making $33 million now because he got minutes on a bad pacers team and finally remembered how to play basketball again

lagāˆžn, Sunday, 14 January 2024 02:12 (one year ago)

their commitment to their process is so apparent this year theyre really playing their game theyve got a lot of very stable guys who stick with it

this is crazy

The rise of Jaylen Brown, pick and roll guru. He's 13th in PPP (including passes) of players with 100 or more pick and rolls this season per Synergy. He was 110th!! last season. pic.twitter.com/UuAx0N7RnK

everyone said he needed to learn to pass and he was like ok

lagāˆžn, Tuesday, 16 January 2024 17:49 (one year ago)

last night 3rd quarter celtics were ahead by 10 then the raptors go on a run to get up 7 celtics look like theyre fading raptors have a 3 on 1 break but the 1 is tatum and he gets a steal that leads to a celtics bucket he then dominates the next five minutes scoring ten points rebounding blocking etc celtics end the quarter up 9 and coast to the win

lagāˆžn, Tuesday, 16 January 2024 18:06 (one year ago)

isnt browns pnr scoring mostly from shooting it himself

micah, Tuesday, 16 January 2024 19:43 (one year ago)

yeah but his passing has noticeably improved this year, still not wonderful, thing that bothers me is hes very slow getting into offense so if he brings the ball up often half the shot clock will be gone before anything happens, but hey its improvement cant really ask for more

lagāˆžn, Tuesday, 16 January 2024 19:48 (one year ago)

nice back2back nine point wins in texas by the celtics, simply cruising with the rockets but they showed a lil more pop vs the mavs, jaylen did some funny stuff to luka lol

lagāˆžn, Tuesday, 23 January 2024 16:10 (one year ago)

cheers to luka for trying harder on d this year but he is still very bad

lagāˆžn, Tuesday, 23 January 2024 16:34 (one year ago)

lol luka is nice while jaylen is dropping subliminals

ā€œI think we kind of glorify guys who can play one side of the ball, but we don’t really pay respect to people who guard and play defense and get deflections and steals and change the game in that area,ā€ Brown said. ā€œWe only glorify people who can score because that’s what the NBA has marketed. But basketball is both sides.ā€

ā€œJust putting pressure on them,ā€ Brown said. ā€œI think it makes them tired on the other side. There’s two sides of the ball, so being able to apply pressure on both, you’ve gotta be at a certain level of shape to be able to do that. So you want to put an emphasis on attacking and being aggressive at both sides of the ball.ā€

jaylen’s recommitment to defense is pretty funny.

always been a bit shaky off ball too

lagāˆžn, Tuesday, 23 January 2024 19:30 (one year ago)

celtics have really been generating amazing 3pt looks recently, and doing it easily in the course of their daily business, theyre up to 6th in 3pt% where they were down in the teens most of the season, and they take the most 3s in the league, pretty nice, the much maligned drive and kick game is producing good team play

its an interesting choice to basically not challenge at the rim rather kick it out and look for the open man when the defense collapses, theyre 27th in rim attempts but 6th in rim percentage, seems like they could press the issue on a few more of those contested layups, on the other hand they are the #1 rated offense according to dunks and threes

and they take the fewest middies, which is interesting considering the jays are both known for those shots, a lot of the aforementioned kicking out prob replaces floaters which is nice, floaters are hard

lagāˆžn, Thursday, 25 January 2024 16:08 (one year ago)

re the drive and kick game mazzulla has said the issue with it getting gummed up in tight spots had more to do with the celtics not really having anything else they do beside just like dumping the ball to tatum, which was the inspiration for hunting mismatches in the post this year particularly with zinger, i think theyre up to second in post touches where they were way down at the bottom of the league last year, its an interesting way to look at it just having more modes you can play in so the defense cant figure you out, makes sense, particularly considering the celtics dont have an unstoppable guy like most contenders tend to

lagāˆžn, Thursday, 25 January 2024 16:23 (one year ago)

ha theres an article in the athletic today about that very thing

It was a glimpse of the Celtics’ newfound offensive flexibility, which should give them another tool during their matchups against the Miami Heat. That’s why, when asked what part of last season’s playoff series against Miami informed his approach to this season, Mazzulla pointed back to the Celtics’ win against the Rockets. With Boston set to play the Heat on Thursday, the topic was timely.

ā€œTeams that are smaller, switchable, physical, do we have a different package to be able to go to?ā€ Mazzulla said. ā€œI thought the Houston game was the epitome of that to where we can play out of the post and we can play nail iso and we can force different types of matchups. So I think that’s the biggest thing, is as you get into the playoffs how can we find more easy baskets? How can we play more physical? How can we make matchups harder? Our post spacing is probably the thing we’ve done the most.ā€

The Celtics rarely posted up last season. They have done it more than any team except Nikola Jokić’s Denver Nuggets this season and have been extremely efficient with those opportunities. The Porziņģis acquisition, which brought in one of the league’s best low-post scorers, helped lead Boston in such a direction, but the change in offensive approach can also be traced back to the Eastern Conference finals loss to Miami. The Celtics offense, which scored a robust 117.3 points per 100 possessions throughout the regular season and even more than that over the first two rounds of the playoffs, lacked consistency throughout that series. After Jayson Tatum injured his ankle early in Game 7, the Celtics scored just 84 points while losing the deciding game on their home floor.

When the Celtics returned to Toronto to face the Raptors Jan. 15, Oshae Brissett’s grandmother again prepared the team’s entire postgame spread, a Jamaican-themed meal consisting of foods such as oxtail and curry goat. The locker room was silent, because just about everyone was eating.
