i think the heat are very comfortable playing embiid. the way to crack the heat is to continually pass the ball ahead of their rotations, this is why the spurs were able to break them and why they can't beat denver. but joel's style is very slow and stationary, the heat can load up on basically every half court possession and he is not a very good passer. and the zone slows him/them down even more

philly should theoretically be able to put embiid at the nail and bust the zone all day but yeah the deliberate pace works against that

for sure. but in order to do that the guy at the nail has to make instant shoot/pass decisions before the zone sets and embiid just does not play fast enough. he should be able to play pop a shot against the zone but he wants to jab step four times before every jump shot

heat-sixers played on national TV in philly like a month ago when embiid was still hurt and they put batum at the nail and he was shredding the zone bcuz the second he caught the ball he was turning and getting into shooting position and either shooting basically a free throw or he was passing from out of that same stance. actually wonder if nurse tries this in the second half bcuz the zone is suffocating embiid
