honestly don't understand the point of the L2M reports, i know it's to appear like they're holding themselves and the refs accountable but encouraging fans to analyze plays frame by frame to determine if some split second judgement call was right or wrong does not seem like a positive development to me in the long run, especially as it dovetails w/ gambling and people's actions as they relate to gambling. anyone including sixers fans who think nurse deserved to be granted a timeout bcuz his fingers happened to touch his palms one hair before maxey lost the ball regardless of whether any ref was looking at him is being encouraged to take a poisonous approach to watching sports

if there is a call that is based on some arcane or complicated rule that even regular NBA fans don't understand then i get wanting to explain that, and the practice of having a pool reporter interview the ref after the game to explain decisions makes sense too. but these reports that are like, at 29 seconds there was a defensive 3 seconds and at 26 seconds there was an uncalled jersey hold and at 24 seconds there was too hard of a bump ... we need far less of this discussion, not more

yeah I think if the game was officiated 'perfectly' it would quickly become unwatchable. something I've learned from the last 2 NFL playoffs is even if you call things correctly it can still make the sport worse - a little over a year ago we had a Super Bowl decided by the fact that someone held onto a jersey a split second too long
