Giannis playing out of his mind too, dude was even better than he was in his MVP seasons and I think that covered for a lot. other than that nothing ever really clicked for this team, their defense was really bad under Griffin and though it did get a lot better under Doc they were broken offensively. Dame only looked like himself every 6th or 7th game and wound up putting up a lot of James Harden-esque stat lines. one of the least fun Bucks seasons in recent memory.

any team acquiring dame was doing so for basically a window of two seasons maybe 3 if everything went smashingly so to have one season totally wiped out is a complete disaster. there is no long term future you’re looking at here

bummer but at least they got one. doesn't feel like there's a bounce back available there next year, they had a lot of luck fall their way in the first half of this season that won't necessarily happen again

be interesting to see what happens if they have another similar season next year giannis has threatened to leave if the bucks arent contenders, his deal runs through 26-27

yeah i dont know what they can do, there was probably another route to building a new team around giannis before the end of his deal but the lillard trade sealed it off

yeah they have no cards left to play all their draft picks are spoken for dont have any guys to trade

its possible the Bucks are still competitive next year, Giannis is still playing great, Dame hopefully hasn't fallen off a cliff, Khris could maybe get lucky and stop being hurt all the time, you'll have a full offseason under Doc and who knows maybe they can make some good moves (idk what exactly though), but yeah if it turns out like this maybe they should just trade everyone and start over. I love Giannis but he shouldn't have to stick around in a situation like this.

khris performance in the playoffs could inspire some hope. he played well. only got two years left as well so might be tradeable

imo the bucks could def just have a better year but thats basically their only option they just dont have much ability to improve their roster and its never a safe bet when youve got guys on the wrong side of 30

underlying question is how long does giannis have left in his joints. he plays a crazy high impact style and is so reliant on speed that he will be a completely different player if he loses even half a step. i wouldnt want to be the one left holding the bag on his contract

They have a June 28 deadline to decide on CP3’s guarantee. The only way they’d guarantee it, IMO, is if they have a trade in place. So watch out for that. If CP3 is willing, the Warriors could move the deadline back to give all sides more time to figure things out. I see very little chance, though, that the Warriors would guarantee the $30 million and then keep CP. I think the only way the Warriors keep CP3 is if he agrees to come back for less money, which seems extremely unlikely and also would mean the Warriors non-guaranteeing the $30 million.
