The local newspaper reports who the Blazers are inviting for pre-draft workouts. I find it interesting that the Blazers have both Ayton & Time Lord under contract along with Duop Reath, the 27-year-old rookie center who played big - and credible - minutes for them all last season, but they've invited a surprising number of centers to work out for them.

Not many (any?) teams would be interested in taking on Ayton's contract, but it feels like Williams could be moving on soon. Reath should stay. He's too valuable as a young bench guy with lots of in-game experience on a very cheap contract.

I don't follow the Cavs that well so maybe there was other stuff going on, but it's still a bummer that JB Bickerstaff got fired, he's universally loved here in MN from his college and Wolves assistant coach days, supposed to be a great guy and from afar seemed like he was doing a good job.

like what if the brackets were different and he lost to the Celtics when the Pacers did? Would that have been considered a good job then?

i guess its just that mitchell doesnt love him theyre gonna try to bring in someone he does like so they can resign him

One of the reasons they were in the position they were was because they tanked their last game for positioning in a pathetic fashion.

Not sure whose call that was but some of the players seemed embarrassed about it.

one of the podcasters pointed out that in their post series interview all the cavs described the season as difficult even tho it was pretty successful none of them were like we made the second round something to build on etc so it seems like it wasnt the most harmonious team

but sounds like theyre going to resign mitchell which didnt seem likely for most of the year get a new coach and maybe do some trades thatll balance their roster out, could work idk

i’m pretty sure there were times during the season where the players called him out in the postgame press for his coaching decisions

idk i’m not too much into “deserve” with coaches. most of them are interchangeable. the cavs could easily find a better coach. sometimes everyone agrees the guy is a good coach but also that they want a new boss

yeah most coaches wear out the welcomes pretty fast

the thing about building around mitchell and mobley is mobley isnt a very good scorer so where do you get more scoring from, idk if garland and allen are going to get you enough in trades, if you want to be good you need a #2 quality scorer, its kind messed up cause if he gets traded to the right team garland could start playing like that guy immediately but hes just not a good fit with mitchell

they need a big wing with a dynamic offensive game haha get in line, maybe brandon ingram tho

coaching really is just a personality matching game with your best player(s)

I find this decision *legible* but I just know it will end badly for JJ

its pretty much a no win sitch cause everyone in laker land has unrealistic expectations, even if he has them playing well and gets along with lebron whats their ceiling the second round maybe the conf finals if everything breaks right, downside is missing the playoffs altogether, thats not a range thats up to lakers standards
