ten years pass...

i realize this is a touchy question that maybe doesn't have a good answer. i do not follow the nba closely. i listen to chicago-area sports radio in the car sometimes and derrick rose is presented in very positive terms there. and every time i hear that i think "wasn't he a rapist?" so this morning i went and read a follow-up article on the court case around the sexual assault trial. i realize he was acquitted and there were apparently text messages that contradicted the way the accuser was presenting things, but the whole story still seems very sordid and so it's weird to me that rose seemingly walked away with his reputation intact. were things just muddled enough that he gets the benefit of the doubt (at least in chicago)?
