praying that okc and the pelicans end up tied for 8th seed and that shot is the difference between durant staying in okc and going to DC, this is my dream

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 16 April 2015 04:34 (ten years ago)

only clay knew how special that shot would end up being

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 16 April 2015 04:35 (ten years ago)

I don't think brow took a single other 3 all year!

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 16 April 2015 04:35 (ten years ago)

i'm picking the warriors to win it all... rolling with their historical regular season dominance

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 April 2015 04:38 (ten years ago)

in an alternate universe grizz & blazers could be a beautiful PNW series, vancouver vs portland

Clay, Thursday, 16 April 2015 04:38 (ten years ago)

if we're counting the grizz as favorites in that series i don't see a single first round upset in the west, though i could def see the mavs putting something together

same in the east though i don't have an opinion on raptors vs wizards. that feels like a pure 50/50 series. like some people i'm intrigued by what the bucks can do vs the bulls but i don't think they can score enough to actually take that.

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 April 2015 04:49 (ten years ago)

*indicates realistic pick

celtics in 7 = homer pick

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 16 April 2015 04:50 (ten years ago)

i picked wiz purely on hyperbaric pierce and wanting to see john wall in round two, one of my fave players to watch

balls, Thursday, 16 April 2015 04:53 (ten years ago)

warriors in 5
mavs in 6
spurs in 4

hawks in 5 (could see the nets winning the first and then tanking)
cavs in 6
fulls in 5
raps in 6

Premise ridiculous. Who have two potato? (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 16 April 2015 04:53 (ten years ago)

are the wiz or raptors good at all? what's the deal

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 April 2015 04:54 (ten years ago)

the deal is they are not good

balls, Thursday, 16 April 2015 04:55 (ten years ago)

like i was trying to work out in my head out to get demarcus traded to wiz to re team w/ wall and i couldn't see how they do it. short of an ahem big free agent signing kinda stuck at 4-5-6 seed cuz they won't end up in the lottery w/ wall and beal.

balls, Thursday, 16 April 2015 05:00 (ten years ago)

wiz/rap is the series i have no fucking clue about tbh

Premise ridiculous. Who have two potato? (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 16 April 2015 05:01 (ten years ago)

totally even

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 16 April 2015 05:02 (ten years ago)

wiz/raptors is a series i'm very happy is on the hawks side of the bracket

balls, Thursday, 16 April 2015 05:03 (ten years ago)

raps can score a lot and the wiz don't defend well, honestly the raps don't do much BUT score but the wiz can't score enough to keep pace really I don't think

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 16 April 2015 05:27 (ten years ago)

the wiz seem in a bad funk that could lead to really depressing series -- like sweep or 4-1 -- on their end if a few breaks go in the other direction

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 April 2015 06:45 (ten years ago)

hope you're back to regular posting for the playoffs, j0rdan

Clay, Thursday, 16 April 2015 06:52 (ten years ago)

Westbrook was far less fulfilled with his newly-minted scoring crown.

“Shit,” Westbrook said when asked what it meant. “It doesn’t mean nothing. Good job. Hooray. I’m at home, watching other teams play. It doesn’t mean nothing.”

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 16 April 2015 12:50 (ten years ago)

wiz/raps has felt so depressingly inevitable all year, it's totally the 2015 version of those awful hawks/magic series that would go straight to NBATV

k3vin k., Thursday, 16 April 2015 12:56 (ten years ago)

nets unis in 1st post are so hideous

johnny crunch, Thursday, 16 April 2015 13:00 (ten years ago)

can't believe the mavs ended up with Houston in the seeding it's a tax day miracle.

hey matt how much did melvin hunt cost you last night?

k3vin k., Thursday, 16 April 2015 13:31 (ten years ago)

in an alternate universe, wes matthews is healthy and the blazers have a decent shot at a deep run. as it stands, if the blazers survive the grizz it will be because aldridge turns unstoppable.

Clay, Thursday, 16 April 2015 18:34 (ten years ago)

morey prob gota little lucky finding rotation players on the scrap heap is a pretty strong indicator of good GMing imo

i don't think jet and brewer were really the scrap heap per se, those were established nba players who may/may not have been cooked

steve kerr seems so cool, i wish he were my friend

call all destroyer, Thursday, 28 May 2015 04:02 (ten years ago)

steve kerr's story is pretty incredible. key player on championship teams, helped put together a team that permanently altered the game, became one of the best broadcasters in the nba and then became a coach and made the finals in his first year

J0rdan S., Thursday, 28 May 2015 04:04 (ten years ago)

naw he came in at the end of the suns run

lag∞n, Thursday, 28 May 2015 04:05 (ten years ago)

kerr was dope in college also

polyphonic, Thursday, 28 May 2015 04:06 (ten years ago)

he was the official GM at the end but he helped out the front office before im pretty sure

regardless

J0rdan S., Thursday, 28 May 2015 04:06 (ten years ago)

kerr was generally panned as a gm iirc

Clay, Thursday, 28 May 2015 04:08 (ten years ago)

like i think he's pretty much admitted he was bad at it

riley curry is a star

Clay, Thursday, 28 May 2015 04:18 (ten years ago)

Kerr had to do some horrible things under financial pressure from Sarver.

David Griffin and D'Antoni probably deserve the most credit for building the Suns.

This is the wildest thing also because it requires exactly one (1) player from the opposite conference to be on the first team, then also make the finals

nah all 4 could be on the team he plays in the first round

I was thinking Bird would have done this, but it looks Bernard King screwed it up for him in '85.

Also fact that they lost championship that year probably didn't help.

given how much a team's performance is tied to superstar players, I'm surprised it hasn't happened before - though the fact that Curry is getting exactly one per round and (most likely) beating them all really is something cool
