from what i can tell "Association jerseys" just mean their normal white home unis, which to me means that the NBA is so married to the city jerseys that rather than scrap the hideous HEAT CULTURE motif they'd rather just erase the heat's normal home uniforms from the equation. what a ridiculous league

it's crazy. the miami vice stuff was EVERYWHERE in miami in the years they were wearing those uniforms. i've never seen the city so blanketed in miami sports apparel like that. it helped that it was timed w/ the jimmy era reenergizing the fanbase but that motif is just such a direct bullseye for how people even in miami imagine the city in their mind's eye -- essentially a collective synesthesia. it provoked a civic pride in people that transcended rooting for the basketball team
