celtics and raptors are the two best teams in the east.

suns are cooked ;_;

spurs, rockets, best, west.

yr mvp candidates for the next decade: lebron, wade, yao, howard, paul, durant.

overrated: detriot, chicago, dallas.

jhøshea, Monday, 5 November 2007 14:17 (eighteen years ago)

J0rdan S., Monday, 5 November 2007 23:28 (eighteen years ago)

Portland will veer wildly from excellence to cluelessness, not just from game to game but from quarter to quarter, until about February. After that, they will play just slightly above .500 to the end of the season and miss the playoffs by a whisker.

ITS JUST LIKE KOBE IS BETTER THAN PAUL PIERCE - FIND INNER PEACE

jhøshea, Saturday, 10 November 2007 07:18 (eighteen years ago)

I SAW GAY PLAY AGAINST PORTLAND TONIGHT. HE PUT ON A PRETTY GOOD SHOW BUT HE SEEMS ONE-DIMENSIONAL? (SCORING)

Clay, Saturday, 10 November 2007 07:40 (eighteen years ago)

(That is probably true. He just gets hated on by sportswriters who are trying to act like they have some magic power of divination about who will be a real player in the league. He might not be the next Scottie Pippen/Tracy McGrady/etc., but at some point they're going to have to admit that he's pretty good.)

oops, I mean...YEAH, BILL SIMMONS, OBVIOUSLY ADAM MORRISON "INTENSITY" AND PREDILECTION FOR TAKING HIGHLY CONTESTED JUMPERS MEANS HE WILL BE A MUCH BETTER PLAYER THAN RUDY GAY.

circles, Saturday, 10 November 2007 18:38 (eighteen years ago)

I don't remember Simmons saying that Adam Morrison would be good.

polyphonic, Monday, 12 November 2007 07:39 (eighteen years ago)

yeah i was a bit mystified by all the gay bashing when he came in the league.

jhøshea, Monday, 12 November 2007 13:12 (eighteen years ago)

Simmons thought Portland was stupid for not taking Morrison, he was like "BUILT IN NORTHWEST AUDIENCE!!! EVERYONE WILL LOVE HIM!!! IDIOTS!!! I SHOULD RUN A TEAM!!!" (Y'know, because Washington and Oregon are the exact same state.)

Dimension 5ive, Monday, 12 November 2007 16:10 (eighteen years ago)

Yes, it was ingrained on my soul.

Dimension 5ive, Tuesday, 13 November 2007 02:12 (eighteen years ago)

"BUILT IN NORTHWEST AUDIENCE!!! EVERYONE WILL LOVE HIM!!! IDIOTS!!! I SHOULD RUN A TEAM!!!"

Well also every single college dude and radio host in Oregon was screaming the same thing at the top of their lungs because they loved the INTENSITY and the MUSTACHE (HE'S BASICALLY LIKE US GUYS! LOL IRONY!) and it was like a sin to suggest maybe Morrison's game was tailor made for NCAA and wouldn't pan out at all against, you know, defense.

Clay, Tuesday, 13 November 2007 03:09 (eighteen years ago)

I think Morrison would have been best suited to a Kyle Korver-ish career, where he signs on with a team as a lower draft pick and earns his keep as a bench shooter, and maybe eventually develops into a rotation regular. Sticking him straight into the lineup was insane.

polyphonic, Tuesday, 13 November 2007 08:06 (eighteen years ago)

ive enjoyed the unsurprising flame out of a. morrison. although i dont see any reason why he cant become a decent shooter in the league. people expecting him to do things he couldnt even do in college wtf.

jhøshea, Tuesday, 13 November 2007 17:13 (eighteen years ago)

Maybe I was immune to Morrison! To!Blazers! because I was out of the area. Also because I don't listen to college douchebags or radio hosts...and because if Bill Simmons says something about the NBA he's pretty much automatically RONG.

Dimension 5ive, Tuesday, 13 November 2007 21:34 (eighteen years ago)

jhøshea, Wednesday, 14 November 2007 15:20 (eighteen years ago)

i predict that the lakers will "shock" a team from texas, arizona, or utah in the first round.

i predict that pat riley will refer to shaq as "the fat man" in a post-game press conference in the next two weeks.

i predict that in the next week bill walton will say the current celtics are better than both the 86 celtics and 87 lakers.

oh thats an good one - which walton love win win out? the 86 celtics or hyperbole?

Clay, Saturday, 17 November 2007 23:59 (eighteen years ago)

went to the Magic Heat game tonight. not only have the Magic improved leaps and bounds, but the Heat are unraveling. even with Wade playing a fantastic game they got drubbed.

Bo Jackson Overdrive, Sunday, 25 November 2007 03:35 (seventeen years ago)

oh, and the typical Orlando Magic game attendee proves why Orlando doesn't deserve a professional sports franchise. Half of them can't even be arsed to sit in the right seats, or show up an hour late.

(I say this with plenty of experience having been going to their games since 89)

Bo Jackson Overdrive, Sunday, 25 November 2007 15:54 (seventeen years ago)

carne asada, Friday, 30 November 2007 17:24 (seventeen years ago)

OK -- the next pundit to say something along the lines of "so-and-so doesn't want to play the Spurs, because when the playoffs come around they're a different team because they turn it on"

this worked really well for the heat!!!!

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 18 March 2008 15:58 (seventeen years ago)

that said the heat lost to a team that really countered their oldness with quickness and kinda wore them out-- who's gonna do that to the spurs? the warriors? <3 them but idk if they could beat the spurs in the first round. i think hornets or jazz would be a good matchup for spurs haters, two teams that play a similar style but have enough younger, quicker guys that could eventually wear them out. i don't see the rockets or the mavs taking them out if they met up in the first round

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 25 March 2008 06:09 (seventeen years ago)

iggy aight, but dre miller is the best player on that squad
always been severely underrated cuz he's fat w a high-ass voice and his game is ugly and weird, but he's a true point who can also score

i kinda wish my nugz kept him cuz then j.r. could start at the 2 and i wouldn't have to watch the anthony carter show

If he's a communications major, I'd like him to take over Reggie's TNT color man responsibilities as soon as he's bounced from the tourney. I don't even care if he's a stuttering Tourettes-addled low talker.

Leee, Thursday, 3 April 2008 05:14 (seventeen years ago)

Honestly, they're not good enough anyway, so it doesn't really matter. I don't even think they're as good as they were last year, even though they've won way more games.
