I totally missed Avery Bradley is on the team now

he might not make the final roster. everyone is hoping its gary payton II. bradley has looked bad in the minutes ive seen him and hasnt looked good in a few seasons really

My understanding is: Payton is signed for this season so they'd have to eat the money for this season if they waive him. Bradley is on an exhibit 10 which they could convert to a 2-way even if they keep Payton. If they cut Payton they'd have to have him pass through waivers to sign him to a two-way.

actually, bradley is ineligible for a two-way due to service time, so he would have to be a straight up g-leaguer

hmm. i think they should roll w GP2. Obv if AB was even like 80% of what he was he would be better but I like the idea of a real defensive ball hawk that's young and hungry to prove himself.

haha i think 6th man of the year would be ideal honestly, or most improved. he may get too many starts in klays absence to be eligible for 6moy. either way im probably more excited to see him play than anything outside of klays return.

Good stuff from Poole and Wiggins last night. Once klay comes back Poole will fill his rightful role as the microwave 6th man and he’ll be able to maximize his strengths a little more.

lavine at 47/39/83 for his career i think having a guy who can produce like that at a high usage is uh useful, doesnt get to the line that much is prob whats dragging his ts down, but those are basically jayson tatum numbers he didnt drag the celtics down, or jalen bruson is in a similar range, thing about lavine is hes not that good at the other basketball tasks

particularly having a lead ball handler whos doesnt have great court vision is just kind of a bummer for everyone

it’s a good way to compare across eras, kinda like wrc+ in baseball. michael jordan’s career ts% is .569, which would be below average in this NBA. but his career ts+ is 110 (weighed heavily down by the washington years lol.)

yeah this is true. 104 isn’t bad, it’s above average, but if scoring is pretty much all you do you don’t really want tk be paying max money for that guy

then you just look at his whole career and the teams he's played for and you wonder what could this have looked like in a different timeline playing for competent and/or competitive franchises

this is obv the biggest problem, seems like a B+ star but paid like a top tier level dude. but could he have played a 3rd banana on a champ level team in the right scenario? or would it be like what we just watched with brad beal the last two seasons.

its tough with these guys who have superstar style games but arent quite as good as actual superstars ideally youd play them like a glorified sixth man getting a bunch of minutes with the bench but that breaks down in the playoffs when starters play a lot

yeah it’s basically the brandon ingraham situation, thankfully there is always 1-2 dumb teams out there

the jimmy effect

steph been solid this year on defense, was really worried after last season when he was generally terrible. but he's been locked in on most nights.

Yeah Steph's defense is like LeBron's - only happens when they care and the games are important. Also Post can make a few 3s and can help space when Steph is off the court which helps tie that lineup together. It's been pretty amazing seeing runs transpire at the end of the 1st/beginning of the 2nd.

What's also standing out to me is how rock solid Podz and Moody are turning out, with Post not far behind them in impact.

I'm actually going to be quite curious and intrigued with salaries and moves this off season with the 2nd apron. Will the Hawks drop $30-40 million a year on JK? He's worth half that right now in this market it feels

hawks have no incentive to tank for the next 2 years, seems like they'll try to maximize what they can do in that window before inevitably blowing it up

Called it - felt there was no way we was missing >1 game after getting a clear MRI result. The fact that Steph solo won game 3 is telling me this series might very well be over soon. Tonight will be an interesting game - hopefully the dubs don't get overconfident and stay focused. Dray's press conference after game 3 tells me they will be.

not sure what the market for steven adams will be this summer but the warriors should be trying very hard to sign him. I'm sure the lakers will be trying as well.

Brandin Podziemski had more points tonight than Jalen Green had in Games 1, 3 and 4 combined.

My goodness that's certainly a way to frame it. Green is absolutely getting exposed. Telling when you're pulled from the lineup in the 2nd half of the 4th.
