I totally missed Avery Bradley is on the team now

he might not make the final roster. everyone is hoping its gary payton II. bradley has looked bad in the minutes ive seen him and hasnt looked good in a few seasons really

My understanding is: Payton is signed for this season so they'd have to eat the money for this season if they waive him. Bradley is on an exhibit 10 which they could convert to a 2-way even if they keep Payton. If they cut Payton they'd have to have him pass through waivers to sign him to a two-way.

actually, bradley is ineligible for a two-way due to service time, so he would have to be a straight up g-leaguer

hmm. i think they should roll w GP2. Obv if AB was even like 80% of what he was he would be better but I like the idea of a real defensive ball hawk that's young and hungry to prove himself.

haha i think 6th man of the year would be ideal honestly, or most improved. he may get too many starts in klays absence to be eligible for 6moy. either way im probably more excited to see him play than anything outside of klays return.

Good stuff from Poole and Wiggins last night. Once klay comes back Poole will fill his rightful role as the microwave 6th man and he’ll be able to maximize his strengths a little more.

lagoon can be provocative and definitely doesn’t suffer fools but octobeard you are a bit overzealous and come off pretty reactive, not just tonight. the character of ilh as i have experienced it is dispassionate anslysis interspersed with droll banter, callbacks, and marvel at the amazing feats of nba players. most/all of us are pretty serious fans of a team but ilh arguments when they occur generally revolve around competing analyses, not like emotional investment and team pride being injured. feel like your response here octobeard is not reading the room very well, though i wouldn’t bat an eye at it in the comments section of like a sportsnation or fansided blog (no shade, i lurk in those places too sometimes).

anyway i do think it is an interesting thing to monitor - when kuminga signed his deal it certainly seemed like a path to a deadline trade, desired by both parties. If things are working out unexpectedly well for both JK and the Dubs between now and then, that could change the plans… but please try not to disregard everyone saying “it’s only 4 games”… this has been a profoundly bumpy relationship for literally years

It really is a small sample and that’s why I’m just hoping it’s real. Even if it’s just to trade him then it’s good cos now we may not need to throw in a pick to offload, and maybe even can get something of value back. Win win. apologies for getting sentimental about this but like, I love you guys. we should be able to argue without getting all in our feelings about it. for many of us it’s been at least 10 or 15 years. Last year I decided I should root for SOMEONE. I've never had a favorite NBA team (except for a short bandwagon stint with the Pistons back in their heyday), so last year I decided to make the Bobcats my own. I like how they're building this team, not wasting money on overrated mid-tier free agents, waiting to get a genuine impact player and loading up on talented, cheap, young guys.

afaics big men are generally late-developers who really hit their stride at about the age where guards the same age are starting to down-shift their game into less reliance on explosiveness and more reliance on feints and tricky moves. there have usually been some old centers playing in the league, e.g. kareem, parish, hakeem, duncan, et. al.

Yeah he looked great for 6 games. Literally fell off a cliff after my effusive praise rants up there. Going to reverse jinx them now with a bunch of doom posts

he looks good when bought into the right role but he just cant sustain it and hes just not a good fit with the main core if he's not completely locked into that role

It's crazy because that role makes him a better player and he generates better stats for himself with it. It's a total win-win. Like if/when he's jettisoned and goes to another team it's not exactly like his lack of focus on defense, inability to cleanly finish at the rim and general inconsistency is all of a sudden going to translate into some all star play. Scoring 25 points a night on bad efficiency and poor defense isn't going to get big max contracts in this day and age.
