I totally missed Avery Bradley is on the team now

he might not make the final roster. everyone is hoping its gary payton II. bradley has looked bad in the minutes ive seen him and hasnt looked good in a few seasons really

My understanding is: Payton is signed for this season so they'd have to eat the money for this season if they waive him. Bradley is on an exhibit 10 which they could convert to a 2-way even if they keep Payton. If they cut Payton they'd have to have him pass through waivers to sign him to a two-way.

actually, bradley is ineligible for a two-way due to service time, so he would have to be a straight up g-leaguer

hmm. i think they should roll w GP2. Obv if AB was even like 80% of what he was he would be better but I like the idea of a real defensive ball hawk that's young and hungry to prove himself.

haha i think 6th man of the year would be ideal honestly, or most improved. he may get too many starts in klays absence to be eligible for 6moy. either way im probably more excited to see him play than anything outside of klays return.

Good stuff from Poole and Wiggins last night. Once klay comes back Poole will fill his rightful role as the microwave 6th man and he’ll be able to maximize his strengths a little more.

ive been 100% against trading draymond until this season. the bad has begun to outweigh the good and he and jimmy just arent a great fit on offense. hes still a game changer on defense and his contract is fair. but if you could flip him into old AD at this point its probably worth the risk. i wonder if the mavs could get more tho. kinda hard to gauge ADs value at this point tho

think thered prob need to be picks sent over too, also was just messing around with the trade machine and its pretty difficult to put something together because both teams are so close to the first apron, might need a third team to facilitate, and the warriors would need to send out three or four contracts just to match ads, all these complications make me think it wont happen unless the warriors are just dead set on it

My understanding is that Brow wants an extension from any team he's traded to, and the Warriors are really put together to start over after next season. If he's willing to buy in to the Steph's Last Ride scenario, then it could make some sense to give it a shot. Worst case scenario is you're stuck with him one extra year into the rebuild.

My personal belief is that it's over and they should stop spending assets on a hopeless situation. Like I'd rather they just grab some vets who fit the plan more than Kuminga and don't cost anything and just have a fun last two years.

A Mavs trade I'm more into is like Gafford plus filler for Kuminga. The Mavs don't really need Gafford and he's on a very reasonable deal.

I honestly would be surprised if the Warriors offload JK at the deadline.

looked at their guys who take more than three threes a game and yeah a bunch of them are off their career percentages by a few points with buddy way off at -7% only guy whos outperforming his career is podz and thats just by a couple points and a couple other guys are even with their career numbers so if theyre getting good looks does make sense that theyve just been unlucky so far, jimmys actually way up too but he only takes two a game so

melton has been rounding into form the last 4-5 games if he gets to normal thats gonna be huge. post and moody have fallen off and theyre usually always open. dray and jimmy are who they are. buddy wont be on the team in a couple weeks i dont think. horford started the season about as dreadfully as possible but has looked good the last couple weeks. i think theyre just playing the long game with him but... they need him all season.

I'll take zombie Horford out there over the alternatives when he's available. Post and TJD are pretty uninspiring.

post has made SOME defensive improvements but if he's not hitting ~40% from 3 then his value is pretty nominal

melten looks so good. scoring will always be up and down with him but the defense is awesome. he's got his legs back.

podz has been good for about 6 weeks straight now? roles seem to be more clearly defined and he's thriving.

horf been super solid for about a month now too.

non curry minutes are looking promising.

the offense is ticking up a bit, defense slipping a hair though. playing dray a little less seems to be working for all parties. he looks more fresh when he's out there and the offense is a little more free when hes not. not a knock on him, just think this year is him trying to figure out being older and how to fit in most effectively.

Sounds about right. Hopefully they can get more than crumbs for JK and the team can improve the vibes too

well jk is just salary at this point, its all about wether they want to ship the picks or not

for as charmed as this decade long run has been its also been mired by a lot of really badly timed injuries.

yeah nba is better with the dubs in the mix

playoff jimmy was something else while it lasted, sort of like playoff rondo was. but all good ballers reach an end some day. i hope he heals up fully and contributes next season.

otm, watching those playoff runs with the heat was pretty magical (the celtics being one of his recurring victims notwithstanding). rondo is a good comp in that sense that they both just had a knack for finding ways to manufacture wins when they needed them.

He'll be 37 before next season even starts so I'm definitely not holding my breath, but stranger things have happened. when Joe Ingles tore his ACL i assumed he was done, that was 4 years ago and he's still rostered this very day

rostered vs being a top ~20 player is a big gap. would be awesome if he can get back to where he was this season. im surprised how high he still jumps now.

maybe theres a trade that keeps them competent this year and then adding jimmy back next gives them one last run but theyre threading a near impossible needle at this point and im not sure mgmt is willing to part with those picks. on the other hand theyve done jack all with lottery picks since taking over so.

xp yeah they're 0-2 in the lottery, though one of those years was a rough draft (2020). I suppose I can dream and imagine if they'd traded back a bit and nabbed Haliburton... but that top 10 is pretty rough outside of Ant.

yeah but he'd be hurt too often... I suppose in a parallel universe where he's super healthy and plays in 90% of his games yeah, but it's hard to ignore the fact he's not played 50+ games since his 2nd season (2022)

That's the kind of good player/bad health deal that forces franchises into contracts they heavily regret later on.

you never know maybe he goes to a good team takes the whole thing more seriously works studiously with the training staff and so forth

talent wise melo was the right pick at 2. but really the right play was to trade that pick and shore up the nucleus. or trade down and get a sniper like desmond bane or maxey or haliburton

but whatever they completely whiffed on two lotto picks in a row and this is what happens.

i firmly believe lamelo on the warriors would have been an absolute disaster. jordan poole got punched out there, what fate would have awaited lamelo? there’s no way his game would have fit in a style as specific as the warriors, especially what it requires defensively. it’s nice to think that it would have been the perfect situation for lamelo, putting him in the right culture etc but nothing about his career has shown that he takes anything seriously enough to theoretically take advantage of the opportunity of being on golden state. they would have traded him

can slice and dice the wiseman draft a million different ways but with the warriors it’s pretty simple imo, they picked kuminga over franz. just blew that one. it happens, it’s very far from the worst evaluations in nba draft history, but if they had just taken franz that changes everything

lamelo with draymond on the team likely would have ended in disaster, but draymond is pretty expendable at this point

I mean he’s had Kuminga on the team and they’re cool (plus plenty of other unserious and/or low motor ballers ala Nick Young, Oubre, Wiggins, Cauley Stein, D Lo, all who he worked with just fine) If lamelo has as sharp a tongue as Poole then there’d be issues but in general draymond is a good teammate. In my biased opinion anyway.
