lag∞n, Sunday, 14 November 2021 03:51 (three years ago)

trying to check out chet holmgren but timme is much better because hes three years older this is what college basketball is like

lag∞n, Sunday, 14 November 2021 04:01 (three years ago)

i can report that holmgren does look very tall and thin

lag∞n, Sunday, 14 November 2021 04:03 (three years ago)

kind of reminds me of durant just as far as looking like a spider out there

lag∞n, Sunday, 14 November 2021 04:15 (three years ago)

two weeks pass...

uconn women ranked seventh

what a disaster, geno no doubt searching wikipedia for 'seppuku'

mookieproof, Tuesday, 14 December 2021 04:45 (three years ago)

two months pass...

amazing that joe lunardi has carved out a career as a 'bracketologist'

i mean all you have to do is . . . look at the team records? maybe the kenpom? and if you're wrong on a bubble team, you can always blame it on some minor conference tournament upset

i respect the hustle, particularly when it involves writing mid-january stories about how kansas has fallen off the one-line(!)

shouldve booked an easier game

lag∞n, Sunday, 6 March 2022 01:25 (three years ago)

i haven't been paying attention to the acc, but i was sort of surprised to see that unc isn't ranked despite being 14-5 in conference play.

this 20-minute long extended feed of sad Duke fans waiting to be addressed by Coach K is one of the greatest moments in sports television history. I’m riveted

i have two really good friends from high school who went to duke, apparently he would use rallies to ream out the student sections for not cheering hard enough using like total full profanity. he is a psychotic little rat man.

call all destroyer, Sunday, 6 March 2022 02:03 (three years ago)

lol not sure how i missed that thought he was more of a professional success wins type guy, i like him better now

― circles, Saturday, March 5, 2022 8:26 PM (thirty-seven minutes ago)

bad year for the ACC. not sure UNC has a single NBA player on their team. even duke feels like a top 5 team by default more than anything. banchero might be the only NBA player on their team.

J0rdan S., Sunday, 6 March 2022 02:06 (three years ago)

if you root for an acc basketball team that isn't duke you're very well aware that coach k is notorious for berating the refs into leaning towards duke w/ his demonic vermin screaming that will never ever get T'd up because he is the one and only coach k

J0rdan S., Sunday, 6 March 2022 02:07 (three years ago)

xxxp that was not my experience having gone to duke (tbf i am old)

i mean, i don't think he's a *nice* guy, but i doubt he's worse than most other coaches, let alone the successful ones

lol he's still bitter about dean getting this treatment 30-40 years ago

mookieproof, Sunday, 6 March 2022 02:19 (three years ago)

i will say i hate duke but i don’t hate coach k. idk why. maybe it’s bcuz so many NBA players who didn’t play for him in college seem to love him

J0rdan S., Sunday, 6 March 2022 02:22 (three years ago)

athletes are the most enthusiastic consumers of athletic mythology

lag∞n, Sunday, 6 March 2022 02:24 (three years ago)

that’s true

J0rdan S., Sunday, 6 March 2022 02:32 (three years ago)

i mean im sure hes good with players, college sports is so much about recruiting after all, but hes def got a halo

lag∞n, Sunday, 6 March 2022 02:33 (three years ago)

tbh i just think he pays a great deal of attention to the small shit

ten years ago i went to a duke fantasy camp (courtesy of an extremely loaded friend, because i can in no way afford that) and basically tore my acl the first time i touched the ball, which was embarrassing af

two weeks later he fucking called me to 'see how i was doing'

obviously he built up advantages (and presumably he thought i had more money to spend on him) but that's good recruiting

mookieproof, Sunday, 6 March 2022 02:34 (three years ago)

wow yeah that is some high level shit

lag∞n, Sunday, 6 March 2022 02:36 (three years ago)

that's impressive as hell, no argument from me

call all destroyer, Sunday, 6 March 2022 02:36 (three years ago)

yeah, that's impressive. even as the years went on he could still sell himself to recruits and their families, duke donors, the media, and nba players on team usa. lol, i guess seeing bob knight up close gave him good example of how not to do it.

circles, Sunday, 6 March 2022 04:03 (three years ago)

lag∞n, Sunday, 6 April 2025 04:21 (two months ago)

amazing choke job by duke tho salute

lag∞n, Sunday, 6 April 2025 04:21 (two months ago)

they were getting open looks all night when they moved the ball houston was way over pursuing but they just didnt do it enough

lag∞n, Sunday, 6 April 2025 04:23 (two months ago)

is the case that it's a hold or are they somehow alleging an over the back?

terrible call, wonderful result.

symsymsym, Sunday, 6 April 2025 04:23 (two months ago)

tbf there would be a lot more amazing choke jobs were they aided by ridiculous officiating

mookieproof, Sunday, 6 April 2025 04:28 (two months ago)

gotta make those 1s and 1s, that's what got Texas Tech

symsymsym, Sunday, 6 April 2025 04:29 (two months ago)

can college coaches request reviews now? never remember seeing that before. gotta find a way to add a little more dead space at the end of games.

symsymsym, Sunday, 6 April 2025 04:31 (two months ago)

call was really terrible but you can’t win in the tourney if you can’t inbound the ball. amazing how hard that was for them

gestures broadly at...everything (voodoo chili), Sunday, 6 April 2025 04:32 (two months ago)

duke looked pretty gassed for about the last quarter of the game think houstons physicality got to them

lag∞n, Sunday, 6 April 2025 04:33 (two months ago)

my thought was it was one of those over the backs that's technically a foul but prob shouldn't be called, refs sometimes choke in big moments too I think, just weird to see it happen to Duke

frogbs, Sunday, 6 April 2025 04:34 (two months ago)

im not super familiar with college reffing but i see absolutely nothing there

lag∞n, Sunday, 6 April 2025 04:35 (two months ago)

there was another over the back against maluach earlier too where i was like what

lag∞n, Sunday, 6 April 2025 04:35 (two months ago)

xxxxps that is not untrue, and one can always say that duke should have done this or that better. but also that call was ridiculous and completely changed the game

mookieproof, Sunday, 6 April 2025 04:36 (two months ago)

the choke job happened before the call. And Flagg got a nice look at the end, I'm sure nobody on the Duke side would be complaining about the refs if that shot went down. It would have been a one-possession game either way, and Duke had absolutely no business being in a one-possession game when they were up that big in the final minute.

symsymsym, Sunday, 6 April 2025 04:41 (two months ago)

yes, the #1 seed absolutely choked against the other #1 seed and the terrible call had nothing whatsoever to do with the result

mookieproof, Sunday, 6 April 2025 04:44 (two months ago)

not what I'm saying

symsymsym, Sunday, 6 April 2025 04:44 (two months ago)

on the list of reasons Duke lost that game, the foul call goes behind a whole bunch of stuff, and #1 on the list is scoring one field goal in the final 10:30 of the game

Houston finished with a 9-0 run *in the last 32.4 seconds*

alpine static, Sunday, 6 April 2025 07:13 (two months ago)

The women's championship game today should be highly entertaining. Looking forward to it.

Yup, great match up

sknybrg, Sunday, 6 April 2025 19:04 (two months ago)

Azzi Fudd is really on one today

frogbs, Sunday, 6 April 2025 20:40 (two months ago)

That was very entertaining, but not in the way I expected. Dawn Staley was practically turning herself inside out with frustration and tried to take it out on the officials, who just weren't having it. UConn was not going to be denied today and SC was just unfortunate to get in their way, like UCLA was.

more difficult than I look (Aimless), Sunday, 6 April 2025 21:29 (two months ago)

that Sarah Strong ... is she the next best women's player ever? holy shit she's good, and she makes it look easy.

alpine static, Sunday, 6 April 2025 21:54 (two months ago)

I was hoping this game would be more closer like in the first quarter but UConn’s defense was just so stifling. Strong has been amazing this year.
