NBA games on Christmas Day: C/D?

Seems like it would be a dud for the players who have to travel that day. But for that small minority of fans who have nothing better to do that day, seems like it would probably be pretty classic to be able to attend a game.

Your take?

I always think about the concession workers.

m bison, Tuesday, 25 December 2007 19:34 (seventeen years ago)

Dude I know that works at the Rose Garden just said fuckit and went home for Christmas. I didn't get to find out what his employer thought about this.

Dud for the sports lovers always having the TV on when they should be eating Christmas dinner at the table and visiting with the family.

For lack of a better place to put this chunk of an article about Gilbert Arenas's blog:

"I never would have known to ask him whether he's taking painkillers, but on his latest blog he says he wouldn't take them because he doesn't think that's manly and because they made him constipated," said Dan Steinberg, who writes the "D.C. Sports Blog" for the Washington post Web site.

was totally classic for me because i could have bonding time with bro-in-law (as opposed to the sunday afternoon football during which i was like 'durrr') and also filled up time between brunch and dinner quite nicely.

Totally classic for me as I had drunkened an entire bottle of wine plus another glass and then got to lie on the couch and watch the Blazers win their eleventh straight game. It was ugly and it was only the Sonics but still.

classic for me just because it's nationally televised so i get to see the Lakers

carne asada, Friday, 28 December 2007 14:19 (seventeen years ago)

Hey, it's Xmassy, and it's the NBA, and it's why everyone should love Sheed: http://www.need4sheed.com/video/sheed/pistons_jinglebells.html

It starts out like, "Dude is having waaay too much fun," then it kicks into a whole new level of wtfawesomeness.

Leee, Friday, 28 December 2007 18:49 (seventeen years ago)

This was always my favorite Sheed moment
both teams played harrrrd

classic! it's an xmas tradition. i'm pissed that there's an nfl game that night--they get thanksgiving, nba should get xmas

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 23 December 2009 18:51 (fifteen years ago)

i wish i didn't have to miss so much of it due to normal christmas stuff, but being able to sneak away and watch basketball after dinner is a million times better than having to listen to grandpa talk about bill o'reilly.

kenyon martin is hilarious, got into a smack-talkin' war with the blazer's color commentator. they'd jab at each other every time martin came down the court.
