last week I went to the Atlanta-Seattle game in Vancouver. Very fun close game, it was great to see Griner and Skylar Diggins balling out. It was officially an Atlanta home game despite 95% of the crowd cheering for Seattle, so the announcing was out of sync with the crowd the whole game. It was apparently the first regular season WNBA game played outside the US.

Skylar has been great this year, she’s been fun to watch play with a real ferocity

The rookies have been awesome, Paige of course, but seeing Iriafen and especially Citron play as well as they are is fantastic.

the core of this aces team is more or less intact over the last 4 years (a'ja, jackie, chels) and theyve just been able to find enough production to build functional lineups each year to unlock their powers. shoutout to evans and nalyssa smith for being those pieces this year, and jewell loyd for evolving into the manu role as the year went on.

big pay increases and they got revenue sharing which was the big sticking point seems like a win for the players, and the wba continues as a going concern which didnt seem guaranteed

yeah, a missed season would have been a catastrophe

player solidarity came through for them. revenue sharing is a huge win in that it becomes a normal feature of future contracts. revisions of the formula going forward are easier to negotiate that prying important new concessions out of management. congratulations wnba players negotiating team.

This month, the two sides reached a collective bargaining agreement that gave Women’s National Basketball Association players a nearly 400% raise. Starting this season, players’ average salary will top $580,000.

It isn’t just the biggest pay increase in U.S. league history. It is, as far as Goldin is aware, the biggest increase any union anywhere has ever negotiated.

“It’s astounding,” the 79-year-old Harvard economist said.
