embiid is shooting 42% from the field and averaging 5.2 FTA per game. two seasons ago those numbers were 52.9% and 11.6, respectively

ive had the pleasure of watching him in two games vs the celtics and hes just not moving at all out there sometimes he gets the ball and shoots it but thats about it hes not defending hes not trying to get position or doing moves once he gets the ball

personally i don't think his shot looks great, to me it looks like he's shooting too early in his jump. so i do want to see him keep shooting at this clip in order to further buy into it, but he is definitely being given the green light to shoot and i think bcuz big man spacing is so important in an offense fully centered around driving into the paint that he will be encouraged to keep it up even if the shooting percentage ebbs a bit. i do think that this year his threes are overall more often in rhythm and in the flow of the offense, last year there was a lot more "well nothing is happening on this possession and i have the ball outside the three point line with my man sagging off me so i guess i'll shoot it." i think ultimately i'd bet that the corner 3 shooting is more real than the above the break shooting, he has looked really comfortable pulling it from the corners

that's a pretty long video considering it is just stating and re-stating the obvious. flagg isn't anywhere close to an NBA-level point guard and no one sane should have thought this was a good idea for him or for the team. i'm pretty sure kidd was instructed by the FO to try this experiment and he complied. but this nonsense is just painful to watch. free flagg!

kidd did the same thing with giannis his first year or two. i think its kinda smart if the main goal is to turn flagg into a well rounded all nba player, but the mavs are trying to win now so probably not the best move

Warriors gotta simplify this, slow it down and get Jimmy the ball on every possession. Way too many turnovers and passing around with no intent. Ugly half. But the nuggets look awesome

report from the spurs game:
-steph castle needs to move to SG yesterday, but he is still such a gamer
-vassell, barnes, and champagnie are not names that strike fear in most scouting depts but their collective 3 point shooting gives the spurs offense such a lift when castle and wemby get so much attention
-wemby still has a lot to learn when it comes to decision making when to kick out of a double, when to lower your shoulder on drives, etc. he seems overeager to show off his physicality this season and is getting some cheap fouls. his overeagerness to show off his bag is also getting him trapped into bad turnovers, he needs to just get his buckets in the flow of the offense and do hero ball in emergencies.
-keldon johnson isnt scoring enough to get 6moy consideration, but if there was all-nba imoact sub team, he'd be in it this year. puro pinche hustle man.

-this was my first time seeing kd (and wemby!) in person, what a fun game. sengun and reed sheppard were hooping well too. amen thompson felt pretty anonymous to me tonight.

i watched the end of spurs rockets which was good btw and yeah wemby has a ways to go as far as understanding what is good to do on offense, lots of futile fighting for low post position and iso ball, feel like the spurs could be getting him the ball on the move more pick and roll cuts off screens duck ins etc seems like it should be easy offense, the real key because he gets so much defensive attention is just making the right reads which will come with time he already makes a lot of good finds hes just inconsistent rn
