SGA 55-8-5-2-1, 23 of those points at the line

Thunder 1st team ever to open the season with b2b 2OT games

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Friday, 24 October 2025 03:01 (two weeks ago)

I was wondering how often any teams has played b2b multiple OT games...Spurs somehow played two triple OT games in a row in Dec 2014, which was the only time that happened since the Baltimore Bullets of 1951

aaron gordon 7/7 from three in the first half, tying the all time record for most 3s in the first half without a miss

jokic 33-15-16-3

Tonight was Nikola Jokic’s 78th career game leading BOTH teams in points, rebounds and assists.

That’s the most such games by any player since the 1976 NBA-ABA merger, 10 more than the next closest player (LeBron James - 68).

crazy

Timberwolves Defensive ratings stats on/off for Gobert are crazy, either second best in the league or so far beyond the worst you need the hubble telescope to see it

With Gobert (247 min): 118.1 ORTG, 109.4 DRTG, 8.7 net rating
Without Gobert (107 mins): 120.1 ORTG, 144.2 DRTG, -24.2 net rating

144.2 is unfathomable. and that sample size isn’t that small

it's been interesting, watching Rudy Gobert 100x more than I ever would have in a lifetime. He's a singularly weird and great and terrible and frustrating player. And almost everything he really does well are the types of things that are not suited to be appreciated in the social media highlights era, and everything he's terrible at sticks out like a sore thumb.

like a combination of a defensive savant and a guy that seems like he's seeing a basketball for the first time in his life.

sometimes the way he drops an easy pass as if he has two canoe paddles for hands it's like...i don't even know

i think ive said this before but best seats i ever had at a game was like 8th row and suns were playing jazz. seeing gobert at like eye level was so shocking. on tv he looks like a normal skinny tall nba player but he would barely be bending over and his hands we're like at his shins, shoulders way more broad than it seems, then he'd put his arms out wide and i have no idea how anyone completes a pass or gets a shot off in his vicinity. ive seen shaq with pretty good seats, and it was even more alien than that somehow. but i do remember how clunky he was on offense, just no feel or touch. i still think the most unlikely shot in nba history is that game 7 shot clock running down fadeaway to help put the nuggets away a couple years back.

zach lowe, nate duncan et al have been noting that it looks like he’s slowing down in terms of being able to move his feet and contest shots at the rim

yeah I mean he's at the age where he's not going to get better

he also had that one bizarre outburst against the Lakers in the playoffs last year where he scored 27 points and looked incredible on offense for one day

that was wild

comrade jhøsh (k3vin k.), Friday, 7 November 2025 22:33 (two days ago)
