lol...The Heat have to hope that Shaq'll be healthy enough to actually play that day.

You know, that's actually a good point.
What if he ISN'T healthy enough and can't play that day? Do they postpone the whole do-over, since the whole idea was that he should have been able to play?

i am so on board with this

something finally made the heat interesting
has this been scheduled yet? i assume maybe it would be played before or after another hawks/heat game?

^yes

It's rare for an NBA team to have the opportunity to lose twice in a day, but I have faith in the Heat.

If Wade's actually still hurt, though, any kind of gutting it out is stupid at this point. Riley just needs to admit that their season's over and give the reigns to Daequan Cook to play for lottery balls.

the heat will draft derrick rose and will be nasty again

So, wait...
If they play the do over match, and the Hawks lose Joe Johnson due to injuries during that last 51 seconds, do they then have to play "do over" matches for the rest of the games that have been played up until now, using the logic that had he been injured in the original game, he wouldn't have been available to play in the other games?
These Back to the Future rules are making me cross-eyed!

lol, for those of you who might have thought this one's off now that Shaq's gone...

What the fuck is the point if the guy that's supposed to be playing...isn't playing?

It is weird.

The replay of the Mia-Atl game from Dec. 19 occurred prior to the originally scheduled Mia-Atl game for Mar. 8. For the December game, the score keepers ruled that Shaquille O'Neal (then with Miami) fouled out with 51.9 seconds left in overtime when he actually only had 5 fouls. Miami protested the game and, for the first time since 1982, the league upheld the protest and ruled that the last 51.9 seconds of the game be replayed. For the replay, neither team scored and the result stayed: Atl 114, Mia 111 OT at Mia
