I guess some other guys got moved, too. Ben Wallace's amazing Chicago career comes to a close! So many memories.

long term the sonics *may* come out ahead but damn cleveland needed some help. the bulls continue to flounder. does anyone, anywhere, have any idea what they're doing? is there a strategy over at madison and wolcott?

I think Joe Smith and Sczexczemaczerbiak are great additions! Smith is good for 10 and 5 and Wally is gonna make the D think twice about tripling lebron. Dunno about Ben, but Cleveland looks much better to me.
Also, nice cold sore:

Hollinger's take:

But don't despair, Bulls fans -- it's not a bad trade for your team. Hughes gives the Bulls a big guard, finally, given that Thabo Sefolosha is not ready for prime time. And Hughes might be much better in Chicago than he was in Cleveland because there's so much more space on the floor for his drives. If so, it sets Chicago up to unload Ben Gordon this summer, perhaps in a sign-and-trade, and get a piece that fits better.

Although Gooden is having a tough year, he is younger than Smith and has a better future -- and at this point Chicago should be thinking about the future rather than the present. Meanwhile, Wallace's departure allows the Bulls to get more minutes for Joakim Noah and Tyrus Thomas without the locker room imploding.

Finally, it didn't cost Chicago any of its long-term assets to make this trade, which means the Bulls can still put Gordon or Thomas or somebody of that ilk into a deal this summer.

It's probably a little disappointing to Bulls fans that they didn't pull off something more monumental, but for what it was, it's a decent trade, with Hughes' performance being the key.

They got Cedric Simmons, a young top-15 pick from 2006. They got Gooden and Hughes, who are good trade fodder since their contracts are relatively small and their performance is still solid (if unspectacular). They unloaded Ben Wallace's terrible contract. It's a decent financial move, if anything.

this trade looks great for the cavs and it will def make them better but im thinking not as much better as it seems.

first of all wallys world - he will be injured - always he is being injured. joe smith why is having such a good year no one knows prob will not last. ben wallace will he have a resurgence? maybe! this is the key to the trade. delonte this guy is a good sort of borderline starter who can shoot and kinda handle the ball and distribute. this is the least question marky part of the trade although clearly not the most important. its not a cold sore - that things been on delontes face since college - what is it? no one knows? also this: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=cornetta/060214 - i <3 delonte i want him back on teh c's.
