I'm fine with things they way they are, even if it means that we miss out on a few marginally awesome teams in the playoffs from time to time. I don't want to watch Lakers v. Philly in Round 1 (or whatever)... I want my conference rivalries. And you can't just flip the Warriors to the East and give them an easier road to the playoffs than they would have had in the West.

If they shifted to this scheme, how would they rebalance the scheduling? Just expand to 42 teams and have everyone play each other twice?
