4-1 start? What team is this?

metonymus prime (rgeary), Thursday, 10 November 2005 02:29 (twenty years ago)

and even before the extremely fragile shaun livingston gets on the court!

metonymus prime (rgeary), Thursday, 10 November 2005 02:31 (twenty years ago)

And Maggette's been out. I like the new backcourt with Mobley and Cassell, but I'm not ready to jump on the bandwagon just yet. I feel like they still have a 10-game losing streak in them around mid-January.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Thursday, 10 November 2005 05:21 (twenty years ago)

I wouldn't be surprised if their entire top six ended up on the DL at the same time at some point.

Jeff Reguilon (Talent Explosion), Thursday, 10 November 2005 16:51 (twenty years ago)

as you'll remember, I picked them #2 in their division before the season started

hopefully, you won't remember this if/when they tank

The Obligatory Sourpuss (Begs2Differ), Thursday, 10 November 2005 21:18 (twenty years ago)

took the bucks to school last night! but begs, did you see TJ FORD of all people sneaking in and DUNKING a rebound? what the hell, i'm taller than that dude and i've never broken my spine. man has no business dunking.

metonymus prime (rgeary), Thursday, 17 November 2005 01:29 (twenty years ago)

this team definitely does have a 5-10 game losing streak in it though. cassell goes down, maggette goes cold and the thin bench can't bring much- boom, all of a sudden a tough stretch of games and things get bad. still, i really want to see them ride the hot streak for all it's worth and get livingston out there soon.

8-2! The Pacific is all upside down so far.

Loltenant in the Lmaoist Rofflution (Matt Chesnut), Monday, 21 November 2005 23:25 (twenty years ago)

clips split the home-and-home with cavs, 11-5 on top of the pacific! so here's the question: if brand keeps up something close to his current numbers (24 ppg, 10.5 boards, shooting over 55%, 2.6 blocks) could he possibly dislodge kg or duncan for the unthinkable all-star appearance? poor guy has been stuck behind those big boys and stuck with poor-to-mediocre clips teams for years, maybe this year (with amare out too) is his shot at the big fun game.

yeah, who would have believed you two years ago that the WARRIORS would be right on the CLIPPER's tail for the division lead?

metonymus prime (rgeary), Monday, 5 December 2005 17:20 (nineteen years ago)

And that the Lakers and Kings would be duking it out for last place honors? Insane.

As for Brand in the All-Star game, either Duncan or Garnett is going to be voted in, and I can't imagine either one being replaced by Sir Elton, even though he's having a great season. They could always select 3 power fowards.

I can't even begin to tell you how frustrating being a Kings fan is this year.

Watching the Clips and W's is exciting now, but the fact that they depend on really fragile/creaky point guards doesn't bode well for them.

This is one of the points I use to console myself when I think about the Kings being sub-.500 a month into the season.

Jeff Reguilon (Talent Explosion), Monday, 5 December 2005 23:17 (nineteen years ago)

quinton ross!

metonymus prime (rgeary), Wednesday, 14 December 2005 03:50 (nineteen years ago)

oh man. i've never seen a team go THAT cold. spurs just handled the biz. if tim duncan could hit a free throw before the last 45 seconds of the game, they'd win 75 games.

metonymus prime (rgeary), Wednesday, 14 December 2005 04:34 (nineteen years ago)

ouch, lost three in a row. not having corey maggette is really hurting them. although getting shaun livingston back is a nice bonus, even though he looks pretty rusty. they were playing three point guards at some points last night! (livingston, cassell and ewing)

three months pass...

metonymus prime (rgeary), Wednesday, 15 March 2006 18:00 (nineteen years ago)

also chris kaman: future all-star y'all

metonymus prime (rgeary), Wednesday, 15 March 2006 18:00 (nineteen years ago)

well probably not since yao will have the west center spot on lock for the next 8-10 years...but if pau blows a hammy or something, watch out for the freak

metonymus prime (rgeary), Wednesday, 15 March 2006 18:02 (nineteen years ago)

Did anyone make it all the way through the Clips/Suns game? I had to turn it off before the end of the first quarter. It was like watching a parent spank her child in the middle of the grocery store. Way uncomfortable.

Jeff Reguil0n (Talent Explosion), Thursday, 16 March 2006 16:58 (nineteen years ago)

yeah, that was pretty ugly. i popped a little before halftime, watched the suns sink them thoroughly and utterly in the third, and didn't bother with much of 4th quarter garbage time (though I did watch a few minutes- few teams are as entertaining in garbage time as the suns!)

the blown dunk by maggette in the third just said it all. the clips weren't really competitive, but they also just had "one of those games" where nothing went right. phoenix on the other hand was just scorching.

metonymus prime (rgeary), Thursday, 16 March 2006 17:09 (nineteen years ago)

popped IN, rather

metonymus prime (rgeary), Thursday, 16 March 2006 17:09 (nineteen years ago)

this would have been a HOT game if the maggette-for-artest deal had gone down
