THE FUNDAMENTALS THREAD

I haven't played in almost 10 years, but as a way to get the body moving again, I've been "shooting" some "Js" but unsurprisingly, I've forgotten all my fundamentals! From a bit of trial and error, I know that the elbow has to be perpendicular to the ground. But where should the ball be placed? Centered to my head/body? Or is it supposed to be over to my shooting hand?

TS: ball laying in palm vs ball resting mostly on fingers?

I just figured out yesterday why I couldn't the needed power on my left-handed jumpers: I was setting up my feet the same way I do my right ie right slightly in front of left. Reversed it and now it feels 46% less retarded.

I had a feeling World B. would show the way! But when I was monkeying with my mechanics, it always felt like I was flinging it almost like a slingshot, like Manute used to do.

don't be like TLC and push it. pretend you're trying to throw it through an imaginary hula hoop that a real 20 ft tall guy is holding.
