Their logo is an anthropomorphic jam box, Mike Jones is rapping at their home opener, and their Web site carries the following announcement:

How tall are you?

The Charlotte Krunk are still looking for players. Preferably 6'8" and up. Contact Coach Floyd via email.

I love the Charlotte Krunk.

I'm just waiting for the inevitable: Chattanooga Steamers relocate to Cleveland.

Damn, I can't choose between the Harlem Strong Dogs and the Reigning Knights of Georgia.

The Toldeo Ice! I just love this. Can their minor league hockey franchise be called the Hardwoods?

Tree Rollins owns the Kentucky Colonels! Tim Hardaway owns, coaches, and will be playing point guard for the Florida Pitbulls!

And I'm fascinated with the ABA's open-door franchise policy. They'll be pushing 60 teams in 2006, assuming none of the current franchises fold after this year (as a great many seem to do).

Apparently the Boston Frenzy (a team I've never heard of, whose marquee name is Adonal Foyle's brother Alexus) are playing home games at a series of high schools around town. I really ought to go.

There's an ABA team in Beijing!
