Best basketball game ever. The graphics are incredible, as is expected, the gameplay is better than any I've experienced before, and the franchise mode is less annoying than last year.
But they still underrate the Mavericks for some reason.

2k6 is easily the best basketball game i've ever played, but i haven't seen it on the 360. the graphics for ea for the 360 are unbelievable though.

on the 360, it's the best SPORTS game i've ever played. just awesome.

I want to get this for PS2 so bad I can taste it. Oh, wait — that was peanut butter. Still though.

I bought 2K6 and 7 is supposedly not changed much from it, so I will wait a year before I revist this franchise.

i've never played ANY game in the 2K series. went to the store to buy NBA Live, but they said they couldn't sell it to me til 5, so I bought 2K7 for PS2. doubt i'll ever play let alone buy a EA b-ball game again. so much deeper, smoother gameplay (and i thought Live '06 made a huge leap from the previous year's in that dept). i wish there was a way to turn off the jet's color commentary while leaving on the play-by-play. only real gameplay bug i've noticed is that the cpu will dribble outta bounds for no reason occasionally. can some one tell me why every player has a humongoloid roided-out jaw?

Someone else needs to get it for the 360 and then explain to me what I'm doing wrong on defense that leads to the Bobcats beating me by double digits.

oops, try playing around with the different camera angles. That is one of my favorite things about 2K. I hate east-west, so I was very happy to learn that I could play north-south.

yeah i think i've experimented with every camera angle. i hate east-west, too, cause it's difficult to tell exactly where the guys are on the court, esp when getting in front of someone on defense. the "2K" camera is my preferred one. the one where it's behind the ball constantly---"drive", i think?--- (ie doesn't remain fixed like "2K", "high", etc), is interesting but not practical cause you can't see the whole court.
suggestions for improvement:
there should be an easy way to pass to the man closest to the hoop, eg pressing R2 twice quickly.
refine the shot stick. it seems like random luck when a post player does an up and under move. it'd be nice to be able to move the shot stick to up and to left, and the roll it counter-clockwise to the upper right to do that move. also, i can't seem to up-fake at all when further from the hoop yet still posting up. dude just immediately throws up a way off-target shot.
is there a way to immediately cancel out of a post up? my guy'll continue to try to post even though him pressing all sorts of buttons in a futile effort to get him to turn around and drive.
the defensive "glue" is too intense, and there seems to be no slider for it. i'll be on defense, following my man, and become stuck to another off. player, attempting to guard him and unable to free myself. annoying.

I hate passing on the break because the receiver always slows down when he catches the ball, inevitably killing the momentum and allowing the defender to get between he and the basket. This kills me because I don't play video basketball to run a methodical half-court offense. I am not Jeff Van Gundy.
