which us metro area could field the best 5-man basketball team in 2008-09?

Based on where players grew up. Which is kind ambiguous, but when in doubt, I used where the player went to high school. Unless he went to like Oak Hill Academy or something and fuck that. I was extra inclusive in my metro areas, so Indianapolis is actually like Indianapolis + central Indiana and Houston also includes Beaumont and Port Arthur. Central Florida seems kind of gimmicky, but there were too many good players to leave out. Obviously, places with fewer than 5 NBA players weren't included.

Also note that Andrew Bynum and JR Smith are both from central NJ, so I really have no idea whether to put them in with Philly or NYC.

Yeah, I was kind of bored.

it'd definitely help the frontcourt though. lots of 2/3s not many 4/5 guys.

i think it's between central florida and la for me. maybe go with la just because they can play baron/gilbert/pierce and have insane firepower and florida has to go with chucky atkins at the point. with kg i would pick chicago though.

The poll is right though. Geez LA has an insane amount of talent.
